papazoid Posted September 28, 2018 Posted September 28, 2018 marquise has 3 catches this season Sammy has 1 td. starting next year will have a $19 mil/yr cap hit and $21 mil in 2020 Robert woods is a #3 WR on a pass happy team. but does offer great value at $6.8 mil ave/yr thru 2021

Pine Barrens Mafia Posted September 28, 2018 Author Posted September 28, 2018 In other news, Jeremy White praising that garbage product from last night. Who needs defense?

Through 3 weeks (plus last night), the average points scored per team/per game is 22. For all of 2017 (regular season), the average points scored per team/per game was 23. I think we saw two very good QBs on display last night. I don't know what the statistics for average yards of offense/team are - but my guess is that teams are definitely moving the ball more (as NFL defenses continue to be castrated). The difference with teams with good QBs is more touchdowns and less FGs/turnovers in the red zone - hence the higher score last night. There was also some ****ty officiating last night that contributed to keeping drives alive.

nucci Posted September 28, 2018 Posted September 28, 2018 would the ones criticizing the play last night be upset if the Bills had that kind of offensive production?

Agreed.....he opens up the playbook, uses his gunslinger Goff and has receivers who can get separation and actually catch the ball. I know Marquise Goodwin is always injured, I wish we would have kept him.....it sure would be sweet seeing Josh and Goodwin

When I saw how much he signed for that dampened my enthusiasm. No way could we do that. I like Josh Allen, but it seems pretty fan homer to be all Josh Allen >>> Cousins (perhaps that's the point, to be a loud fan homer?). Allen lit up the fan base with his TD run and his hurdle and his TD dive. Right now Daboll is scheming lots of short quick passes for him, and that's appropriate. But Allen passed for 165 yds last Sunday, 209 the Sunday before. Don't you think you might want to wait and see if he develops into a 300-400 ypg accurate passer before issuing the proclamation? We had more run game and we stopped the run well last Sunday. The Vikes D did NOT look good last night and neither did their run game, so now I'm "gotta wait and see" on that too. Are we good or were they bad? One thing right now McVay >>>> DiFillipo

No I'll enjoy any Bills win no matter how it happens. But watching other games with zero defense is boring. The Vikings look like a poorly coached team. They never put their hands up to stop the ball even when they have perfect coverage. That has nothing to do with new rules, I think they might just be a bad team.

I think you're right about Vikings....Their defense was supposed to be much better

We got to a game last night with two good QBs lighting up the scoreboard and people complain that “there’s no defense any more” or “the rules”. But if it was a 13-10 snoozefest, we’d be hearing about how there is crisis due to the lack of competent QBs or that Thursday night football is destroying the NFL. Here’s a thought: Maybe Goff and the Rams are just really good. 1
Awwufelloff Posted September 28, 2018 Posted September 28, 2018 Goff is an absolute stud. Dude is a top 5 QB already. The pass he made to cooks was incredible.

Exactly, game ends up high scoring with tons of offence and the "self proclaimed football purists" are mad cause there was no defence, or no hard earned rushing yards. Game ends up as a 13-10 defensive battle and people are complaining that is was a boring game where no one could get anything going and they need to just get rid of Thursday night football altogether. The only way I see a game like last night as being bad is if it was a one sided blowout. But with 2 good QBs going back and forth lighting up the scoreboard, it makes it a fun game. 1
