Depends on the teams that are available. At least we have a top 5 defense here.

Defense doesn’t help a WR unless it helped them win a super bowl.  Not the case here.

It’s pretty much the opposite.  Teams with bad defenses throw much more because they have to.

I wonder if the Browns are second-guessing their decision to get out the cutting shears for Gordon after watching this week's NE game.

Could be from a talent perspective, but the patience had worn thin after so many years waiting.

I think it’s mostly that they are down to 4 healthy WRs, one of which is breshard perriman who will practice for the first time tomorrow.

landry has had to play on the outside where he’s not as effective as in the slot. Calloway  has been drop city, too.

With a strong defense, you have a better chance of getting to the post season. The player comes here, learn the playbook and ball out. He becomes the man and have a better chance of making the playoffs. For all we know, we might be a player away from making some serious noise.

But does he trust the process?

As long he is not a fluff head and does not just cite it he will be fine.

Gordon hasn't light it up for the Pats just yet, don't get me wrong he has been solid the past two weeks but he has yet to go out and be a major factor in the game. If Gordon is anywhere close to what he was at his best for that Pats team then look out because they are going to be super scary. Gordon at a high level is a legit number 1 receiver, Gronk is the second best tight end in the game, Edleman is a legit slot receiver, White out of the backfield is a very good pass catching back, Michel is looking very good as an early down back between the tackles, while Hogan and Paterson are nice complementary players.

Now if Gordon gets hurt/suspended or just never becomes close to what he was then the offense comes down to Earth a bit as they don't have that one commanding reviving threat but they still probably are a top offense in the league.

For all we know.....:sure.  But if your HIM.  You aren’t looking at it like that.  You look at our offense and how putrid it is.  The likelihood of being able to improve your stock over the rest of the year in Buffalo isn’t very high.  We’re the WR graveyard.  Everyone knows this.  He ain’t coming here

I'm guessing that since he hasn't signed yet, no team really wants him.

He just had a workout with the NYJ today.  We'll see whether he signs.

Yup, saw that.  He's been on the market for 3 weeks now.

Why the Bills won't take a flyer on him is beyond my comprehension even though he had a spat with receiver coach. Bring him in to talk and maybe bury the hatchet.

They should, but looks like it's not a possibility.

There's definitely something behind the scenes with Matthews.

Falling out with his OC last year

Falling out with his OC this year

Team grants his release (and it costs them a W)

Remains unsigned, despite deep WR need by many teams (the guy who replaced him and dropped the TD was signed)

WR most often sign with other teams for a few different reasons: to win, for money, to put up numbers for future contracts with this team or another one, and playing time. All we can offer them is playing time and almost no chance to put up numbers.

Or money after this season - money is a pretty fantastic motivator as far as the history of signing WRs goes. But yea, we're not exactly a prime destination at the moment for any player looking to win now - anyone who would sign would need to understand and be hopeful for this rebuild. There are solid WRs out there who would go for this with the right price, but better to build this corps through the draft with FA help if needed. Same with the OL if we can.

Wonder if that means Pryor is not going back to the Big Apple?

Also might explain why they cut him to begin with.

Also, It just seems like WR is a overall diminishing position in the NFL. Probably the air raid college systems that are producing unrefined talent.
