LeGOATski Posted September 26, 2018 Posted September 26, 2018 Lewis, but rotate depending on who they're matching up against. They probably like some guys covering others.

LABILLBACKER Posted September 26, 2018 Posted September 26, 2018 Play Lewis. His last name is not Gaines so that's a plus...

As long as you have a shut down corner like Tre....you can work the scrap heap on the other side because you can give them help when they need it....and if you actually can find a player there you are that much further ahead True that he is good with secondary players but I would caution against thinking EJ Gaines in particular was a scrap heap player. He was a darn good corner as a rookie with the Rams who had injuries and came back to a less natural scheme fit with Wade. That kid can play. Lewis is more of a dumpster dive find but the early signs are he is certainly serviceable.
oldmanfan Posted September 26, 2018 Posted September 26, 2018 Against Rogers I expect they'll both be on the field a lot.
Ittakestime Posted September 26, 2018 Posted September 26, 2018 Gaines was brought here to play nickel. He only plays outside in desperation. Lewis played well there so should stay there. Johnson is always hurt so Gaines can go to nickel.

He played well last week while Gaines has been a liability in the games he’s played I wouldn't say a liability. I think he was just for Ed to play out of position cause David sucked. Gaines should be strictly a nickle corner.
Rochesterfan Posted September 26, 2018 Posted September 26, 2018 I think they will all get some playing time - especially trying to get some added CBs on the field. I prefer Lewis on the outside with Johnson and Gaines inside.
NewEra Posted September 26, 2018 Author Posted September 26, 2018 Lots of votes fo the kid. Size and speed + a first start in which we basically shut out the Vikings at home. Did anyone here scout him in college or know or know anything about him? Intriguing additions Beane made before opening day between him and David Borneaz
swnybillsfan Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 i was going to vote for Lewis. dang it all to heck!
Rockinon Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 Gaines is still wearing a brace. So, inactive.

I think they just want to let him heal more. The brace probably is a hindrance. Edited September 30, 2018 by Rockinon
whatdrought Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 Did Lewis get good playing time against Tennessee? How’d he do?
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 I'd change my mind but isn't Lewis banged up? Play them both has to be the answer until the injury is no longer a concern.
