R. Rich Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 Step up Step back Step off! Just kidding. Status quo. Things are about even, I'd say.
stevestojan Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 It's more complicated than to just say we took a step up or a step back. It was more like we: 1. Step to right with right, slide left together. 2. Step to right with right, slide left together. 3. Step to right with right, slide left together. 4. Clap 5. Step to left with left, slide right together. 6. Step to left with left, slide right together. 7. Step to left with left, slide right together. 8. Clap 9. Step back on right foot. 10. Step back on left foot. 11. Step back on right foot. 12. Touch back on left toe (don't put weight on this foot) 13. Step forward on left foot. 14. Swing kick right foot. 15. Step back on right foot. 16. Touch back on left toe (don't put weight on this foot). 17. Step forward on left foot. 18. Swing kick with right foot turning 1/4 turn to left. Yes, this may look VERY similar to the Electric Slide, but I feel it more closely represents our offseason to this point.
CentralVaBills Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 How the hell could anyone even think we have stayed the same? Unreal. Cutting Bledsoe was fine with me. But, we will probably be a little worse, especially at first with JP. We lost our best offensive lineman. Period. And to make up for that, we currently, as we stand now, have to shift other guys out of position to cover losing our best lineman. And we probably lost our best defensive lineman. And if Pat wasn't our best, he was 1b, with Adams being 1a. It's complete homerism to think we are as good, because we aren't. We are in need of SERIOUS upgrades on offense. Especially with a rookie QB. You need to surround a rookie with an upgraded offense. So, we, so far, and I stress so far, are worse on the line, horrible and terribly unathletic at TE, and everything else is the same. The only upside is that McGahee and Evans should continue to get better, while Moulds will probably start to get worse now that he is aging. A good back can only do so well, behind a pourous O-Line! On defense, our strength, we have lost a quality player. Big time. We've also lost a good special teams player in Pierson. Of course, we have taken a step back for now. And why the cap is such a fuggin mystery is beyond me. The only thing I can think of is that TD is trying to keep it quiet, because he hasn't done JACK this off-season, and he doesn't want everyone to know that we are X number of dollars under the cap that he isn't spending. As a season ticket holder, this is a VERY disappointing off-season so far.
Matt in KC Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 Our team's quality (and the performance I expect) is clearly worse. Losing Jonas, Big Pat, and yes, even Bledsoe are three positions it's hard to credibly argue we have better quality players on our team now. That being said, I think we've made pretty good decisions regarding the salary cap, and the future of our team. But, so far, it still looks like we're jockeying for a playoff run 2-3 years from now.

"put your left foot, put your left foot out, put your left foot in and you shake it all about...do the hokey pokey and we turned ourselves around, thats what the offseasons all about?" but maybe thats just me...
Puhonix Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 whole lotta movement, but in the end, your still standing in the same place. Bledsoe gone, Losman in: evens out. Losman may turn out better in the end, but currently he has zero experience, and yes, that hurts.
Rico Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 dumping 11 trumps any losses in f.a. Bledsoe is gone....HUGE step up. 281898[/snapback] Yes indeed. The future is very bright.
