DRA3196 Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 People tend to run faster when they are being chased by a pro bowl linebacker than when they are being followed by a stop watch. On a more serious note. The kid is proving that he is willing to lay it all on the line. His progress and leadership are impressive. There have been many seasons where our defense has stepped up like they did Sunday only to have our offense settle for 3 points instead of getting a TD. Or only managing a 3 and out after a turn over. We needed Allen to play big Sunday and based on the score and the post game highlights, he didn't disappoint.

When the Bills are on offense at home, the team should play that COPS theme song over the PA system.
pi2000 Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 20.6mph is 10.07111 yards/sec.... at that speed he would cover 40 yards in 3.97s. Wut.

And some guys are faster in shorts but slower in pads and in game situations than their allegedly slower counterparts. Similar to what you said, I was always kind of amazed at guys like Jerry Rice and Andre Reed who looked to be running as fast as they could but when they saw the ball in the air which was going to be a little long they suddenly found more speed and got faster. It's kind of the adrenaline, lift up a car in an emergency kind of thing. Not to mention allens technique looked unnatural and robotic at the combine compared to his in game running...Jerry rice supposedly didnt know how to run the 40 properly which greatly affects your time..cus obviously jerry was much faster than his 40 time

Bring it Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 Some people or athletes in this case rise to the occasion when needed! Allen looks awesome so far! Tremendous competitor!

For a 6'5" 245 or whatever he is dude, he's not only agile, but pretty quick and pretty fast. "A good athlete for his size" doesn't come close to describing him. There really is a ton to like about him. He really did..I was like...whoa...he is actually fast! Not quite Taylor speed but still has wheels. Very surprising to see a guy that big move like that. 11 hours ago, Juice_32 said: That speed in 10 yards is damn impressive. Well, realize that while it counted as a 10 yard run he probably started from 15 or 17 yards because he had to make it back to the line of scrimmage first.
DRA3196 Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 I don't think running from Authorities is the kind of msg the league or the Bills want to send. Something like the "Wreck it Ralph" music could be appropriate

I think others were longer but since they were called back by penalty - they only count as 0 and 2 yards. For example Desean Jackson's 83 yard punt return for a TD was called back and is listed as 0 yards. Thanks OP. To get to 20.6 MPH over 10 yards is mighty impressive indeed. This is where elite sprinters are at. https://www.freelapusa.com/how-fast-can-usain-bolt-run-the-40-yard-dash/
pi2000 Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 He ran much further than 10 yards on that play, probably at least double that. The ball was snapped from the 10yd line so it was recorded as a 10yd run, even though the distance he actually travelled was much further.
Sammy Watkins' Rib Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 Allen has the potential to be three QBs rolled into one. Carson Wentz- Near identical physical measurables Cam Newton- Physically gifted runner that can take a beating and is not afraid of a little contact. Patrick Mahomes- Elite arm strength 1

On film, looks like he started about 15 yds out, but he did run diagonally.
