I’m just watching, and it’s how he looks. The eye test.  I find stats for him being lighter, and he looks lighter. But again....time will tell. I would have taken him at #7.

Getting Iupati and Pugh back would help a lot.

Really? Every time there was pressure in the pocket he was either sacked, stripped, or threw the ball into the ground on his way down.

Really.

"Pocket Movement

  1. Rudolph
  2. Rosen
  3. Jackson
  4. Mayfield
  5. Darnold
  6. Allen"

"His fourth quarter and final drive against the Seahawks were excellent, as he dropped a few dimes at the intermediate level, calmly moved away from pressure with his eyes downfield, and tossed accurate passes to secondary targets. Like Darnold and Allen, his offensive line is concerning and, thus far, has been the worst of any of the four first-round quarterbacks from the 2018 Draft who saw the field in September."

That's just the first couple I found. He's always had legit injury concerns and no ability to escape the pocket and run away, but he's been generally considered as good at moving within the pocket.

I have to say that my biggest takeaway from Rosen was surprise over how weak his arm looked.  On many of his throws he also lacked an arc to the ball.  A lot of balls were getting batted down.

Agreed. Didnt appear to have any leadership qualities when things were going bad snd progressively got worse.  Even his "I was being soft" interview was horrid. Seems so in genuine and as he put it-soft.

Rookie QB's are going to have bad games, a simple fact. You also don't write a guy off after some bad games in his first year as an NFL QB. It's flat out stupid to do so. I don't know what NFL you have been watching over your lifetime, but guys don't usually come fresh out of college looking like Elway, Favre, Rodgers, Brees did in their 5th year starting in this league. I still think that Rosen is part of the group that will turn out to be the best in 2 or possibly 3 decades.

You should of seen the love the Browns we're getting on this board before the season. That didn't last very long.

For today’s grammar lesson, it’s ‘should’ve ‘ not ‘should of’.  Should’ve is a contraction for should have.

I ‘m really starting to worry about the quality of education in this country.

6'4" 226 lbs is fragile?

If multiple concussions from college then yes.  Not calling him fragile or weak but brain injuries are selective based on height and weight.  From what I saw last night of that oline his futire life insurance policy just went up in price.

Rosen and Allen show what happens when you have a bad OL.  This will buy Beane and McD more time to rebuild the offensive side.

We have no OL and therefore no run game to speak of. Buffalo's offense somehow also has no receivers either. I honestly think if our top 3 WRs go on IR, and there isn't much drop off

We are 6 games into the first season for all of them. They have each shown flashes of the potential that got them drafted in the first round. Each has also struggled at times with mechanics, accuracy, reading defensive coverages, and making good decisions. Allen and Rosen in particular have had to deal with very limited offensive talent around them. There seem to be a number of posters that want to declare with some level of certainty, how good or bad any given QB of the 4 is going to be based on very limited criteria at this point - and many of those posters display little consistency in evaluating those criteria among all 4 QBs.

I see 4 rookies who are playing much like the vast majority of rookies before them. I have no idea which, if any, will develop into true franchise caliber QBs. It will be a while before we know. And, to be honest, I only care about Allen.
