I know exactly how things go here and it's become much worse over the years. The evidence is that many long time solid posters are no longer active or post less. That's because there's a whole lot less debate/discussion and a lot more instant analysis, attacks, and the rise of chronic posters who live on this board all day every day.

When they were bad, it didn't need to be sugar coated, and when they are good, actually more than good, we need not be shy about it either. Total domination, how sweet it is. Let's build on it. 1. Amazing performance by Allen. Without sitting a year and no veteran mentor now, yesterday was the day his talent showed to the NFL. Whatever growing pains he will have, the future holds so much promise for him. 2. Jerry Hughes and Kyle Williams. A blast from the past. Where had you gone for so long, guys. Welcome back. 3. No matter what McDermott says about his DC. This game had the HC fingerprints all over the D. At the end of the year, if there is a award for game of the year to a HC, this was it. People need to stop thinking a QB needs to sit a year to learn.

The very same people who have anointed Allen the Chosen One did the same with EJ, and Tyrod after him. Folks are desperate for a real QB on this team. We've had 1 of them in 50 years of football.
starrymessenger Posted September 26, 2018 Posted September 26, 2018 (edited) Allen is not to be confused with EJ and/or Trent. Or Kyle Boller or Jake Locker. There are no guarantees, agreed, but if folks can't see that he is a much superior prospect they haven't been paying attention or don't know how to interpret what they are seeing. And it should have been obvious long before the Vikings game. Again, he is and remains only a prospect at this stage, but the more accurate and appropriate comparisons are Cam, John Elway, Steve Young. For Allen it's really down to ironing out mechanical kinks, field vision and processing. If he gets there it will still take a while and he is bound to have his ups and downs, but he very much seems to have the ability to refine his game and make those adjustments. And if he does that look out. Like great players in any sport, he has the attributes to impact games emphatically. Daboll is crucial to his development and appears to know what he is doing. Looking forward to seeing how Allen/Daboll make out vs the Pack. Green Bay will have a much better idea than the Vikes did regarding the things they will have to do to shut down the Bills O, so it won't be easy. Win or lose, if Allen continues to impress it will be a very encouraging sign. Edited September 26, 2018 by starrymessenger 1
