hondo in seattle Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 When Allen hurdled that defender, it reminded of a couple plays from the Bills past. The first memory that popped up was Kelly's dive for the winning TD against Miami in 1989. The net result of Allen's leap wasn't nearly as momentous but it galvanized the team in a similar way. I loved hearing Allen's teammates talk excitedly about the play after the game. In an antithetical way, Allen's leap also brought up memories of Orton's hook slide short of the first down. Allen is no Orton. 1
VaMilBill Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 When that happened I fell in love with him and knew all his teammates and other Buffalo fans also fell in love. Hopefully he doesnt break our hearts 3
The Firebaugh Kid Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 Thought the same thing...that was Kellys big moment early in his career. Hopefully this is the first of many huge performances from Allen. 1
Soda Popinski Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 The whole organization was down following both the bad losses the previous two weeks, we needed a spark, that was a great spark from Allen. 3
MAJBobby Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 Hope to never see it again. Learn to slide Kid. Thing that kills the goal of this season (Allen’s Growth) is a Jimmy G torn ACL. Also always get scared with the Horse Collar tackle and in back to back games Allen has taken one. 1
Bangarang Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 Loved it when it happened. Now never do it again please 2 1

I hope to never see it again either, but, if he did slide, the Bills are punting.

Josh Do It Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 Love his grit. I just hope he understands he got away with a couple. Jimmy G., E.J., Tyrod, they all got hurt trying to go the extra mile. 10 3
OldTimeAFLGuy Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 ...sure glad he made it....could have been painful and raised his voice a couple of octaves........... 1
Mark Vader Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 An inspiring play for sure. I just hope we don't see anymore of these daredevil plays from him. An injury would be horrible. What is amazing to me, is that his leap was over a linebacker, not a cornerback or safety, but a linebacker! 1

Malazan Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 I'd normally be on the side of you have to be careful as the QB, but the team needed that play from him.

Question, has anyone ever seen an injury occur while jumping over a player in this manner? Lots of folks calling it foolish, but is it? Does it fire up the team? absolutely IMO Cam Newton has made a living with his aggresive style running and leaping ability making him the hardest QB in the league to defend IMO.

The TE from Raiders Miller that destroyed his knee and career.
Saxum Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 Not looked at combine numbers but were there numbers in it to indicate this type of ability?
