OrediggerPoke Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 In my opinion the Bills need a sure handed receiver that Allen trusts with his fastballs. Solution: Sign Tanner Gentry off the Bears practice squad. The guy isn’t blazing fast but catches everything. I call him a taller Wes Welker. Josh Allen and Tanner Gentry spent their summers together in Laramie running routes and playing catch on a daily basis. They have an amazing rapport. Gentry rarely (if ever) dropped an on target Allen pass. Bills should act quickly. Anthony Miller was hurt today for the Bears and Gentry is a possible signee to the active roster. 3 1
Warcodered Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 (edited) ^^^^^^ this it's not like he do much worse. Edited September 24, 2018 by Warcodered 1
Freddie's Dead Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 We should re-sign Kerley before taking a flyer on an unproven WR. 2

I believe Gentry led the Bears in catches and receiving yards in the preseason. He has proven at least that he belongs on an NFL field IMO.
Shaw66 Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 I like this suggestion. The Colts added Coby Fleener, a tight end from Stanford, to give a young Andrew Luck a familiar target. Feeney's best seasons were his early seasons with Luck.

Tenhigh Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 Bobby had this idea already, surprised he isnt on here backing it up. Although he did go a little overboard with mcbean hate this week.maybe he is feeling guilty. 1

Heavy Kevi Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 We have the worst WRs I think we have ever had. Would kill for Stevie Johnson, Donald Jones, and David Nelson right now even. KB is just terrible. Sure, give this Gentry kid a shot.
The Frankish Reich Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 I like this suggestion. I saw a little bit of Gentry with Allen in Wyoming - calling him a taller Wes Welker is kind of misleading since he's a pretty tall guy. I do think he'd work well with Allen again. Not having him there in 2017 was a big part of Allen's apparent "decline" in his senior year.
Batman1876 Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 Could we transplant his hands onto Foster? 1
PolishPrince Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 I support bringing on Gentry. I would also like to see us bring Deon Thompson back.... Good speed, can stretch the field... and actually catches a damn ball 2
DCOrange Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 I'm still a fan of Tanner myself, but I do think there's reason to be cautious with a guy that couldn't make the active roster of the team with probably the worst WR corps in the league last season. And it still isn't very good this season either and he's still on the practice squad.
Warcodered Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 While I'd love it if they brought on Gentry most of all I just want them to do something about the WR position I mean come on.
BADOLBILZ Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 It seems like an obvious fit but I think the reason they haven't pursued this is that they don't really value the WR position enough to carry a spare........ and the guys they have really all have pretty specific roles. That's why Kerley got cut.......he's kinda' redundant with Jones and KB and Ray Ray all capable of playing Kerley's position to some degree. If Zay Jones got hurt I think they might be on the horn for Gentry but Holmes and Foster are the lowest guys on the depth chart IMO and they both have very defined roles that Gentry wouldn't be able to replace.

MarlinTheMagician Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 Do it! Reilly too. Gentry and Reilly. 1
