Happy Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Still a crap call. What are DBs supposed to do, let the receiver run 5 yards before tackling them? He made the catch and was turning to become a runner.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 There were numerous ****-tastic calls today. Just hot freaking garbage.
BuffAlone Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Maybe if Tre stuffed the reviewer's shorts with the flag, all would be forgiven. Joke of a call. Joke of a rule

TroutDog Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 This is a perfect example of overzealous zebras implementing a new rule. Absolutely terrible call.
Green Lightning Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 That defies reality. Defenseless? So every receiver making a catch is now defenseless. 2
RocCityRoller Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 T White just shut down S Diggs. Took him out of the game completely. This was a BS call, but what a good corner. get him a decent CB opposite and this secondary is special. T Johnson is coming along nicely, good future nickle IMO
JoPar_v2 Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 That interpretation is even worse than the helmet-to-helmet rationale. Riveron is so stupid he’s too stupid to realize when he’s making himself sound even stupider.
Real McClappy Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Was a garbage call along with illegal block in the back when we are punting and the challenge call to reverse a fumble that was a pass.
MJS Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Good tackle. Bad call. But that happens sometimes. No amount of rule changing is going to take bad calls out of the game.
One Buffalo Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 He was supposed to two-hand touch him and not tackle him... if he had done so, then surely Thielen would have stopped right there, short of the first down.

No amount of rule changing is going to take bad calls out of the game. Not true. If replay were applied to calls like this (and the call against Clay Matthews) they would be reversed very quickly. There is no excuse not to review them.
berg1029 Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 This call makes zero sense. How can they say it is "unnecessary roughness"? If he doesn't hit him and prevent him from gaining yards, dude gets the first down! I'd say it was necessary roughness 1
