DuckyBoys Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Frazier had the play sheet I'd like to know what Cowher and the half time guys really do during the games. Its certainly not watching much of the games

Milano needed to show his first year wasn't just a few good games and has he stepped it up. He looks to play a huge role in this defense moving forward. Good for him

When things are going poorly, fans are looking for someone to blame. Star was pushing the pocket out there as well. Hopefully, they can keep up it up.

Boatdrinks Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Reiff singled up on Hughes all day....no mas
Perry Turtle Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 It looks like they changed the gap assignments and the coverages the last six quarters. The defensive line was shooting the gaps instead of occupying the gap, using run blitzes (more so in the Chargers game, since the Vikings didn't try to run), and they're playing more man and man zone. 5

Freddie's Dead Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 (edited) Trent Murphy rounding into form, Star playing Ted Washington-like, Kyle looked like a new man out there today. Let's hope it's a trend. Edited September 24, 2018 by Freddie's Dead 1

That had beem MIA for most of the past year, which hurt Hughes pass rush stats. It was like a fine-tuned machine today... This is specifically why Star was brought in, as much for the pass rush as the run defense. 32 minutes ago, Perry Turtle said: It looks like they changed the gap assignments and the coverages the last six quarters. This was a big factor, too. I think the Vikes were confused most of the game, until it was over.

Doc Brown Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 They just wanted it more. All about attitude and they had it today. Minnesota seemed to be sleep walking.

That's half the battle. Most of the big pass rush plays happened in the first 10 minutes of the game. I doubt rest had anything to do with it. Jerry was unblockable at times. They mixed in some pressure. Vikings helped out a bit by not giving the LT any help.
ganesh Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 Did the absence of Lawson help the pass rush....sort of addition by subtraction ? 1
