No

It takes moxie to answer an open ended question with a yes or no. That’s just the sort of thing we need at this company. You’re hired!

Well, I am absolutely steadfast in my belief they cannot in any manner spend their 1st round pick on defense.

We have LITERALLY the worst offense ever being measured.

They need talent on the O...NOW

Just a sad season period. I know the kid is a rookie and i know we lack WR depth and i know we have a below average O-line, which is why I'll give the kid SOME slack but there HAS been many times when receivers get separation with good blocking from the line and Allen can't connect (either doesn't see them or misses because of inaccuracy).

I'm one of the people who rely more on free agency signings (for the Bills only, not for the league) rather than the draft because the Bills are known to have bust 1st rounders through the years, but, with Beane and McDermott I actually get excited come draft season cuz they seem to be doing a great job with their picks. So shoutout to the scouts and whoever else is involved with the draft but still a sad year because of no offense.

It's such a waste of a great defense we have at the moment and I genuinely feel bad for Shady and the whole defense as a group especially Kyle.

This

I am amazed how many fans would seemingly give up an elite defensive penetrator to trade back and collect picks to fill holes.

Using the draft to fill holes is what has helped keep this franchise back all these years. When you can take elite, premium talent at key positions you take it. If we end up at say 6 or 7 and you don't think there is a big drop between the guys available there and at 17 or 18 I am all for a trade back. I am not for a trade back when I am leaving top end elite prospects up there.

Nah, there are far bigger reasons the franchise was held back for decades.

-the new regime comes in and feels the need to "clean house", and spending years rebuilding with "their" players;

-failing to build an offense at a pace even close to building a defense;

-failing to find a franchise QB and in most cases, not trying;

-showing a lack of respect for the OL, and not realizing what it takes to make a good OL.

The team's had some dominant defenses in these lean years, (2003-04, 2013-14, 2018) but has rarely had the offense to keep pace.  The offense was finally getting closer in 2016, but they felt it was better to replace it with the NFL's least talented offense.

And now people want another DE.

It isn't about wanting a DE. It is about wanting elite talent - and there seem to be two players in this draft who are true top end elite prospects - they happen to be Dline players.

Disagree. We're not good enough to take that mentality.

If there is a CB or pass rusher you can envision in a gold jacket, you take them.

I get the need for offensive help, but we need more elite talent. The only player we can put in that class right now is Tre White.

Totally agree. Teams that win Superbowls have 3 or 4 elite stars. Often the Quarterback is one but the other positions it differs massively team to team. If there is a player you think is a perennial all pro and a possibly HoFer then you don't pass him up to fill holes at other spots.

Beane and McDermott have shown a penchant for drafting a single player with multiple picks, so yes.

Last time they traded back they passed on Mahomes. Doesn’t look like a brilliant move right now.

If you put Mahomes with this offense you would be  screaming what a bust he is.  You build the pieces and then add the QB.  Chiefs had RB, TE, WR and offensive line in place, then added Mahomes.  Do you see a similar personnel situation for Allen in Buffalo?

Interesting. When the Bills selected Watkins in the 2014 draft, fans ( and pundits) panned the move because there wasn’t a legit QB to throw him the ball. Before the 2018 draft, fans were clamoring for a QB because it’s obvious you draft the QB first then get the weapons .Everyone knows this, look at Matt Ryan and Julio Jones you know? So which is it ? While Mahomes likely wouldn’t be having identical success in Buffalo, his abilities to run an NFL offense vs Allen’s are apparent. I’d venture he’d be putting up more than 80-100 yards passing per game.

Little bit of controversy last night with Oliver. He’s missed 4 games with a knee injury and was wearing a coat on the sidelines. HC major Applewhite was pissed and told him to take it off, because apparently only guys playing in the game are supposed to wear that particular coat. Oliver got into it with applewhite, and the rumor is he won’t be suiting up again for UH.

I would avoid this guy, especially in the top three, where he’s been mentioned.  He was invisible in the two UH games I watched this year and just smells like a bust.  This year’s Sam Darnold—defensive version.

The Bosas seem to have bad Genes for injuries.  Both Bosas missing substantial time over the last couple of years.  Injuries happen but seems kinda odd that both brothers are injured. Probably crazy talk but seems like an interesting aside.

Idk anything about either but if Nick Bosa's name recognition has any bearing subconsciously in anybody's head.. in a vacuum.. I'd take the other guy.

Not so much name recognition, but film recognition. Nick’s brother has been very successful in the league and he’s a very similar player, if not better from a polish/technique standpoint. They both had the same DL coach but Nick is more of a “student of the game”, let’s say. Their film from college is almost identical.

The most difficult thing about scouting college players is trying to project what they did in college onto what they will do in the pros. That aspect is a bit easier with Nick, which will be a factor. It isn’t a guarantee but it helps.

This doesn’t really matter for the Bills, because I don’t think they will be drafting 1 or 2.

I get that. But if YOLO isn't 100% trying to convince me on a buckeye over another dude, then that dude's gotta be pretty damn good :)

except Ed Oliver apparently got pretty heated about a jacket with Major Applewhite. Maybe he falls in the draft!

Applewhite tried to take a coat off a grown man cmon dude you messed up when you let him put it on in the first place. you can't take a man's clothes from him sitting in the cold middle of a game!

Nah I actually would not do that. I don’t love all the Buckeye players as they project to the nfl. I give my honest assessment. Some are better prospects than others.
