The Poojer brood is heading your way.  Will be in the Tampa and Clairemont(sp?) areas 3/26-4/2.  Any good(cheap) suggestions are welcome

-family in the area?

There is a pretty cool winery in Cleremont called Lake ridge Winerey. The place is easy to get too and the weekends usually have some kind of entertainment going on there and the wine is good and not all that expensive. Other than the price gouging theme parks enjoy the great weather and check out the paper for festivals and what not. Hope it helps and have great and safe trip!

It's spelled Clermont and the winery there is pretty awesome. Clermont used to be somewhat of a backwater town but recently has become one of the booming cities in the Orlando area.

If you get a chance, check out Universal's theme parks. Otherwise, bring your golf clubs and enjoy one of the hundreds of courses in the area.

Your right on! Clermont is booming. I have a friend that does construction work in central Florida (where the work is) and he has been in Clermont for the last 3 years steady! If your nature lovers, Wekiwa (pronounced - wakiva) springs is a must. beautiful crystal clear river with plenty of wildlife.

That is exactly what we are looking for, places to see manatees, etc..., we willprobably throw in a day at disney, for the 6 year old, but other than that we want to do that nature kind of stuff, like tarpon springs and the sponges., etc...

not that I am a big wine person, but lakeridge's wine is nasty, stick with the wines of the finger lakes, the soil is much more rich and the weather is more ideal for grapes (in the finger lakes)

careful on 27, it is one of the more dangerous roads in florida...there really isn't a whole lot in clermont, the citrus tower,

it is the fastest growing city in florida, you can tell your friends that.

Ybor city in tampa is awesome if you get a chance go there, it kind of has the feeling of New orleans.

Good Luck

if you are into nature go south on 27, towards hell (miami) and stop at Bok gardens/ towers it's nice, but it's a drive from clermont, not to far from it is spook Hill, which IMO doesn't work, but maybe your fam will get a kick out of it.

if you want to see a baseball game the devil rays are the cheapest ticket in baseball, I am not sure of their schedule but if they are playing, for the price of one ticket to a Bills' game you can pay for a family of 4...it's indoors too, if they are in town.

Call the Crystal River Chamber of Comm. to see if the Manatees have returned. IMHO that is the best place to see them. Crystal River is about an hours drive north of Tampa. When you get back, let us know how it went.
