will he still get a ring if we win the SB? ?

Little known fact: Vontae's name also will be on the Stanley Cup if the Sabres win the cup this year.

Maybe I am getting old, but I just don't remember that.  If you say it happened, I am sure it did, but I just don't remember.

Brown gave up and stopped giving effort, and "was excused" from the last game of the season for "personal reasons," and released after the season.

I understand Rico's anger at it.  But it's not the same thing as retiring in the middle of a game.

Suit up for 2 quarters and I'm out?

We all going to troll his twitter account?  I might send him a picture of a gold watch.

Hah! I'm sure he'll be voted his 3/32 share too.

He earned it with that spectacular drive-stopping play in the first half where a guy fell down in his vicinity...

Does anyone recall this happening with other NFL teams? The quitting/retiring in the middle of an actual game that (ostensibly) counts? I'm pretty sure it's happened in the NBA, but right now I can't remember who/when.

BTW, good info on arbitration/recovery of cap money, etc. It'll be interesting to see how that plays out.

Only one I recall was legarrette Blount walking off the field when he played for the Steelers. He didn’t quit the team but he quit the game. Tomlin cut him the next day and then he re-signed with the pats

Who wouldn't fake a slip and fall to avoid the embarrassment of Vontae possibly catching up with you ....

Ahh, thanks. I do remember that. There's a lot of documented cases of guys refusing to go into a game (in a blowout, etc.), but I'm still coming up empty on a guy actually retiring mid-game.
