He's better than what we have.  What do we have to lose by starting him.   Nothing.  We have turnstiles at guard currently.

Castillo is the root of the problem. He is a s*** coach, but a hand-picked good ole boy of McDermott's. Ducasse will suck no matter who the coach is, Mills as well, but we have seen Miller play well before they got here.

Not sure Teller is the guy but if Bodine replaces Groy it would not surprise me at all to see Groy replace Miller and not DuCasse.

This makes sense.  Unfortunately, Bodine to center and Groy to guard is nothing to get excited about.  From what I saw of Bodine during preseason, he wasn't a very good center; can't imagine Cincy is missing him.  And then there is Mills at RT which is bad and not an upgrade for at this time.

I am in favor of upgrading the OL - a high football IQ is not required to see that they are deficient.

 

I think this leads to the frustration to make a change, any change, in hopes that the result is different.  This seems to be a fan reaction, not a coaching reaction.

 

I suspect that Teller is not ready to start yet even if he had a strong college career.  Many college stars are not drafted or perform poorly in the NFL - it is a different game.

Mills look really bad today, followed closely by Miller.  Pathetic.

I think we might see Miller go to the bench soon....

 

Delayed blitz recognition, tackle/end stunts....overall he just struggles to pass protect very well.

 

Interior oline is such an issue right now, I don't know if Boettger or Teller are the solution, but we'll probably see them sooner than later, as they'll want to see what these young guys are capable of

While it's a difficult thing for any coach to decide when enough is enough and to replace a player that convinced them through the summer that they'd be able to do the job, the Bills should give serious consideration to letting the fifth-round rookie guard Wyatt Teller take over at right guard. Miller is on the last year of his rookie contract, and likely doesn't have a future in Buffalo past 2018 given his level of play in both 2017 and 2018. Teller is a player still with four years left on a manageable contract, and the Bills owe it to themselves to figure out if he can be a part of their long-term solution on the offensive line in a year that they have all but admitted is going to be a down one. Miller had a solid season back in 2016 -- his second year -- but we're slowly but surely finding out that it may have been an anomaly. Teller could represent future gains and a potential answer -- and really, it can't get much worse at right guard. The time to start Teller is now. "

mills was as bad as mills can get. i was thinking to myself during the game that probably one of the chargers would make a comment similar to last year. i think miller would look a lot better with someone competent next to him.

I dont understand how some think they can watch a game on TV and think they are better talent evaluators than the coaches in the NFL.

The problem is that offensive line play is the weakness of many NFL teams and good offensive linemen are pretty rare. A compounding problem is that due to the proliferation of spread offenses, college offensive linemen are becoming harder to evaluate because they are rarely asked to hold a block.
