Coach Tuesday Posted September 16, 2018 Posted September 16, 2018 They are not in the business of adding talent here.

Its wishful thinking for fans of 1960's football. The way the rules are setup it has made it a passing league and don't think it will evee go back to smash mouth football.

Formerly Allan in MD Posted September 16, 2018 Posted September 16, 2018 Give Allen his protection! 3

It always starts up front in the trenches—no hogs that can play = no sustainable success over the course of a season. When the Bills were actually good they also had all-pros up front. If Jerry Rice were out there last week I doubt there would’ve been enough time in letting a play develop, to feed him more than once or twice, at least that’s how it seemed.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted September 16, 2018 Posted September 16, 2018 Not happening, not worth it, we are going to suffer this year and will get them next year.

It will expire before Allen needs a new deal if he ends up being legit. You are still left with plenty of money next off-season and you won't have to give up too much in picks. Dez Bryant? The guy who still doesn't have a job in the NFL and who got cut from a team desperate for a WR? That guy is trash even for 1 season. So you don't think the Bills would have to give up many picks for possibly the best RB in the game? it would most likely take multiple picks and then you'd have to sign him to the richest RB contract ever since his agent stated he's a RB and a WR, he's also 27 years old soon and coming off 2 major knee surgeries. Both those players are a waste here imo. I mean Bell would be awesome until after year 3 when he is a broken down old shell of himself who can barely run, we have a solid RB in McCoy and a guy who looks like he may be able to take over if given a chance in Murphy. Then we'd be doing this dead cap thing all over again with Bell and having to pay Allen/ Edmunds all at the same time I don't see it working. 1
Dadonkadonk Posted September 16, 2018 Posted September 16, 2018 Wrong approach. Trade for a C/G that can start. QB makes the WR not the other way around. Put Zay in the slot. Split Clay and McCoy out wide. Give Allen protection.

Boca BIlls Posted September 16, 2018 Posted September 16, 2018 They tried to get Anquan Bolden then he retired...

DefenseWins Posted September 16, 2018 Posted September 16, 2018 Why anyone would want Josh Gordon at this point is beyond me. He is totally unreliable and simply a distraction at this point. He is a player of great talent who simply isn't interested in doing the things necessary to be sucessful. Sad - but end of story. Dez seems to have his own agenda. Don't think he has any real interest in coming here even if the Bills were interested. At this point in the season alot of teams are having trouble fielding a competent offensive line. Tennessee and Carolina immediately come to mind and I could easily list at least 4 to 5 more teams with banged up O-Lines. The Bills are going to have to suffer through this season but then will have the draft picks and cap dollars to remake this team for 2019 and beyond.

The rules don’t favor running teams - the likelihood of getting called for penalties on running plays is higher for the offense. The rules favor passing a lot - there are so many penalties that can result in automatic first downs when passing that’s why the best offensive teams are usually pass heavy - illegal contact, defensive holding, pass interference, roughing the passer, defenseless receiver, etc. It’s why the draw play on third and long is one of the dumbest play calls in pro football. Even a team that can run the ball like the Steelers get pass happy, because they know it’s to their advantage. The Bills can’t do either because the O line is a hot steaming pile - bad coaching and not enough talent. That’s on the process for having two drafts and two FA periods to address the line better (Incognito and Wood were at the end of their careers either way) - they basically treaded water at LT if I’m being kind and did very little to address the other positions that were below average or lost starters. You don’t get better on the line by having only two good tackles and trading away one of them, and going with bottom of the barrel FAs and late round picks to address the rest of your way below average OL. greeneblitz Posted September 16, 2018 Posted September 16, 2018 There is a reason why no team in the NFL wants these players, this isn't Madden, players are a lot more than their ratings. 1 2

A lot of the older fans that are from the Rockpile days would love a team that runs the ball a lot and plays hard defense. 1
