They need to come out of the first three rounds with help at pass rush, CB, WR and o-line. Its post free agency, which will effect need a lot. I’d have to think they see rare pass rushers at the top of the draft. Sign 2 mid tier vet offensive line, a blue collar cb, and a good WR allowing a more bpa approach after a rusher at 1. Depth literally everywhere would be helpful at that point.

Right, let's just grab the 2019 versions of Star Louwho, Vontae "healthy scratch" Davis, and our second best WR in Kerley who just got cut the day before being slated to start week 2 in our rookie QB's first game. Is that the kind of FA haul you expect net year Joe?

Fadingpain Posted September 15, 2018 Posted September 15, 2018 Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon Ducks. 6'6", 225 lbs, strong arm, good touch on ball as well, excellent ball location, can lead receivers and anticipate throws. Probably the top QB prospect for next year's draft. 1

Zero, in fact that is last on the list of positions that they will consider early. They may take a guy in the 4th or after to be the backup but no chance of a guy before that. It’s Allen through 2019 (at least).

Only reason I want QBs to excell is to be able to sell off our No1 overall for a ransom

The Bills would still get Bosa or Oliver and then pick again at 33, 35, 65 & 67. You could start the draft with something like: - Bosa/Oliver - N’Keal Harry - Trey Adams - Michael Dieter - Parris Campbell That would give you the pass rusher, a starting OT, a starting OG, a number 1 WR, and a slot type of weapon. You’d still have 2 4ths, 2 5ths, a 6th and a 7th. You can use that collateral to move around the draft board to get a guy or 2 that you want (ie if you need to get back into the late 1st). H2o Posted September 15, 2018 Posted September 15, 2018 Hakeem Butler looking like A.J. Green against Oklahoma right now. A 6'6" 225lb WR from Iowa St. who has good speed, runs solid routes, has good body control, runs with physicality after the catch, and wins pretty much every 50/50 ball. He didn't have a good 1st game against Iowa, but he's eating OU alive today. 1

GreggTX Posted September 15, 2018 Posted September 15, 2018 Trade down and draft SEVERAL offensive linemen. Sign the best speed WR and CB you can get in FA. Teams don't often let good OL walk these days unless they need a QB.

With the cap constantly escalating teams let go of solid players that other teams value more (like Robert Woods). You need to draft 2 starting OL and 2 starting WR in the upcoming draft. You need to sign a decent player at each position as well. 1

Don't disagree with you but b/c that is how they view it, doesn't mean it is correct. I'm not going to die on this mountain right now, b/c we have no idea what Allen is going to look like this year and beyond. But these guys will protect "their guy" (Allen) and their jobs long before they will acquire a second top QB prospect for the good of the team. That is for sure. I'm thinking about the team; they are thinking about their jobs and reputation. The sad part is we have a solid shot at a top 3 pick this year and that is the time to get a QB. If the current Allen/McBeane cycle runs its course and washes out in a few years we'll be right back to taking a QB anyway, only at a time when we aren't picking in the top 3. B/C the Bills aren't going to take a QB with their first pick next year means no one here should consider it or discuss it? Or analyze top QBs prospects around the country? Do you think they are reading our comments and making decisions based on what is said here anyway? I know it's fun for idiots like GoBills808 to poke fun at the idea of a top QB at the moment. That's b/c Allen hasn't started yet. That honeymoon ends tomorrow.
