Seems unheard of for a productive former first round pick from a recent 2016 draft to be dumpster trash so quickly. Guy must be a disaster behind the scenes. Clearly can't understand offense or concepts and was limited between the ears.

To put it in perspective - we are paying 3.5m this year to have Foster drop balls instead of putting him on the practice squad and saving a couple bucks to let Coleman run a limited tree

they took a shot and failed. did it come at any cost besides ownership's pockets?

Yes it did. It eats up a big chunk of salary cap that hinders team ability to sign a WR who can actually catch balls.

To put it in perspective, we swung and missed on Coleman, but we have a UDFA WR who has flashed star potential.

I knew you wouldn’t be able to pass on that. Didn’t even have to tag you.

The Bills have $8.1M in cap room.  They had an extra $3.5M before trading for CC.  They could have used it but didn't.

This is one of the quickest downfalls I have ever seen from a first round pick without off field incidents in recent memory. He and Perriman both.

The way Bill Belichick signs then cuts players is sheer genius.

They must keep money back for injury replacements, if the right player comes available, and strategic players extensions.

They can also carry it over for next year.

But I am off topic. Dickelyjones asked "did it come at any costs besides ownership's pockets?"

Yes it did.

My point is it has nothing to do with money coming out of owners pockets. All contracts and player salaries are fixed to the salary cap over the long haul. Only thing that changes is sometimes the cap is spent earlier than the year it is applied and spending it in any year reduces money available to improve the team in said year.
