I'm saying it's a non story, we needed a better QB, which we never had at the time. And Tyrod is being human expressing his frustration at Buffalo's disorganization.

I didn't click on the link, and not sure what prompted the comment by Tyrod either way, and I am not sticking up for him nor condemning him. But fans who B word about this kind of stuff often act like the player is just a whiny baby and called a press conference to announce his grievance from something two years ago, and can't just let it go. When nine times out of ten the player isn't thinking about that topic at all, but is asked about it out of nowhere by a reporter, and then just gives an honest answer to the question on the spot.

His benching in 2016 was a sound business decision.  Everyone, including him, should have known that.

Sidestepping dude. He wanted to play and win and not watch crap on the field.. me as well lol.

Bills did their thing, good business decision, sure. Tyrod didn't care. How many times do I repeat we really shouldn't give a **** what he's saying, and that we can can side with either or because it doesn't matter

Thank you. ALL I am saying. Now I have to go down some bills Tyrod backup history rabbit hole.

It was crap on the field when he was in.  It was just crappier when he wasn't.  That's usually the case when a team throws an unprepared rookie QB in.

I wish Tyrod would talk about his performance in the playoffs more. That was his biggest missed opportunity of them all.

He'd just blame it on being black or the coaches or the playcalling ..... he will never take ownership of his own ineptitude.

So are you mad at Tyrod for what he said per OP? Cause my only point is literally "sure, I can see him PERSONALLY being justifiably upset.. that's my opinion.

As someone who did click on the link, it was an interview/selfpromo type deal with an outfit called Uninterrupted. They appear to be an original content distributor with a focus on professional athletes' interviews/podcasts. From the level of production I am fairly certain it was rehearsed and meant to frame the topic in a particular light. I doubt he's under any contractual obligation to provide them interviews...his answer certainly wasn't some press conference ad lib.

I still don't really care to listen and get riled up about our last quarterback after seeing what went down.

Thanks.

That does sound, from your description, that they wanted him to talk about it, and get some reaction, rather than him looking for someone he can whine to.

It's the topic of this thread. That's why I clicked it.

I agree, a lot of times quotes out of context and the player was asked explicitly and just answered.

On the other hand, the QB "face of the franchise" is expected to perhaps have a bit more savvy at dealing with the media, and I think it would have been "best practice" for TT to channel a bit of Belicheck with some "my focus is on this team and this season" "on to Pittsburgh" etc etc

Fair enough lol. I just know it's not going to change my mind that I agree with what he said and the Bills made the right decision per their prerogitive.

Trying to curb the Tyrod hate. I thought he wasn't treated very well with the crap quarterback situation we were in anyway.

I just dispute the entire notion that he was somehow hard done by the Bills.

He was plucked off Baltimore's backup squad by one of the most disappointing HCs we've had in a long time and subsequently installed as starter. After going through 2 offensive coordinators (one in Roman who I still consider having done a very fine job) in 1 and 15/16s seasons , he gets benched for one meaningless game due to a contract situation.

Tyrod is a part of the Bills' past.  I'm done with him.

Here's to looking toward the future.

Former disgruntled guys dislike HC who let them go isn't that big a deal. As to who doesn't like playing for McD now...it ain't K. Williams, Hyde, Poyer, White, Edmunds, or Phillips. Not Allen, Benjamin, Dawkins, either.

So if the issue is that guys like McCoy or Clay or Washington don't like the staff, who cares. They aren't in the future plans anyway. Good riddance imo.

I think one of those you mention is on the list.

If the man feels that would jeopardize his source, got to respect that.

He didn’t say that was the reason. He can choose to reveal or withhold what he wants.

Another who could give a **** less article about a qb who isn’t here, a coach who isn’t here, and a gm who isn’t here. Might as well be about another team. I can’t stand these what-if, has been nonsense posts. Moving rt along...

No, not Whaley. It is a few players, some that are there and some that are gone. McDermott doesn’t have buy in from everyone. There are some guys that HATE him.

You can choose to believe me or not. I really don’t care. I think those that have been here a while will vouch that my information has always been credible.

Thanks for the feedback, I thought you were speaking of SM but reading some other comments thought I missed it.

SM is far too rigid, demanding and process-oriented to be beloved by 53 guys, plus anyone else who may have passed through the clubhouse. Hell his faith alone will make him a target for some people who see the world differently, think it's hokey or even bs.  I think when you're the guy expected to lead a professional sports team defined by: guys with passion for the game playing at a high level, guys with the talent to be special walking through the motions, the ego(s) some of these insanely athletic guys must have after what probably is decades of being the best athlete around, the mix of well-heeled guys and hard scrabble guys from the streets, the perpetual threat of serious, catastrophic and career-ending injury virtually every time you suit up, the natural tension between management and the players/union...and toss in a whole boatload of $$$$, it's just bound to happen.

It it just makes sense, really. And to sum it all up, one guy's truth is often another guy's lie.

Almost forgot...Tyrod had every chance under the sun to lock down that spot, no questions asked, big money to follow and he simply did not do it.  The fact that the coaching staff had to even consider benching of TT in favor of Peterman tells you all that you need to know.  No hard feelings for me with TT, but he was just almost consistent/good enough to make it close, but not so good as to make it obvious.  Onward.

I'm going to have to be on tyrod's side. Many called him a class act while in Buffalo, screw it. Let em know the Bills coaching and personnel and EJ investment was annoying. Every time he didn't play the quarterback play dropped immensely. He's aware of it.

And ya don't think that pissed off Tyrod? That's even worse haha

How is that even worse?

The entire world knew that he wasn't keeping his current deal, and they were either trading, releasing, or reworking his contract.

If he didn't, then he was in complete denial.
