And he was run out of town for it because the GM took him instead of NGATA IIRC?

He just got outplayed by a converted WR and ended up a reserve and left quietly in FA.......but yeah it was  the Jauron regime.....who had already made most of the mistakes that McBeane regime has been making.

He was only trash because of what fans expected of him by being taken where he was taken and that he past on the guy everyone else thought they should have taken.

He wasn't a bad player, he just never could live up to the level that the fans expected of him.

He definitely got on the wrong side of fans with his BS predictions of grandeur which often involved snapping back at fans for their perceived negativity.

Bad football will invoke bad reactions..........as a player it's best to just do your job and not irritate the customers when your team is incredibly, inexcusably bad.

It's a product.........bad products piss people off........especially those where customers don't have apples to apples options.......like high level pro football or the NYC subway system.

But there are people on this board who insist that each regime needs to be allowed to make the same mistakes and the past shouldn't be evoked.

They don't appreciate the logic of "those who don't learn from mistakes are doomed to repeat them".

Who was run out of town?

IIRC, Whitner earned 36 million over 5 years while playing mediocre football at best for the Bills. He even had the nerve to hold out before he signed and had a domestic incident at around the same time. Yeah, Poor Donte!

People are unhappy with the Josh Allen pick? Really? Compared to the Whitner selection, Josh Allen resembles getting Brady in the sixth round.
