Will we be considered the home or away team for the Super bowl?

I like your thinking! The home team is the NFC representative in odd numbered years, and the AFC representative in even numbered years. The next Super Bowl is 2019. So, we'd be the away team.

As we are a month out from the Houston game and there are a few people going (and the other thread where I promised restaurant recommendations for @FluffHead is closed) a few housekeeping notes and then down to business.

Houston Bills Backers Tailgate Block Party

Saturday October 13th, 5PM

Christian's Tailgate, 2000 Bagby St (see our facebook page for more info)

The street will be closed off for a huge Bills Block Party hosted by the Houston Bills Backers.  Look for other midtown bars to wave Bills flags if you're in the area watching college ball.  Find @The Real Buffalo Joe (you can't miss him) who can find me and I will buy you a beer. Or you can yell Jauronimo and I will buy you a beer or a shot.

Gameday Sunday October 14th: Official Tailgate at NRG Stadium in Yellow Lot

Recommendations are all centered around Downtown, Midtown, and Montrose where I hope you're staying.  There is nothing of interest near the stadium.

Local Faves

El Tiempo – Tex Mex $$ (Fajitas or Carnitas)

Ninfas on Navigation – Tex Mex $$ (Fajitas)

Breakfast Klub – Southern breakfast $ (chicken and waffles)

The Pit Room – Texas Style BBQ $$ (Brisket, Beef Rib)

Steak

Pappas Bros Steakhouse $$$$ (there are plenty of national chains here, but Pappas is still the best)

Brenner's $$$$

Mex-Mex

Xochi – Oaxacan $$$

Luna y Sol – Amazing street tacos $

Asian

Uchi – Sushi $$-$$$ (Try happy hour every day at 5.  Line up 30 mins before they open!!)

MF Sushi - $$$$

Aqui – Southeast Asian $$ - $$$

Mala – Sichuan $$ (dan dan noodle, mapo tofu, crispy aromatic chicken, water boiled fish)

Jinya – Ramen $$ (spicy umami miso ramen)

Cali Sandwich – Vietnamese $ (banh mi, bun rieu)

Bars

Hay Merchant - Beer Bar

Anvil - Cocktail Bar

Okra Charity Saloon - downtown nightlife

Little Woodrow's Midtown (Brazos St) - Great daytime bar to watch college ball

Cle - douchey vegas style club where you can get bottle service and drop a cool G

Late Night

Jinya – Ramen $$

Mai’s – Vietnamese $ (pho, bun bo hue, bo luc lac)

Conservatory – Bar and food court $ (poke is my favorite vendor)

La Calle  - Street Tacos $

Winbern Mess Hall – Asian fusion $

Tacos A Go Go – Tex Mex and tacos $

Tierra Caliente – Taco Truck outside Alabama Icehouse $

Feel free to PM me with any questions, concerns, or sexy pics. I look forward to meeting some of you mutants in person.

I look forward to spending time with the Backers there at Christian's. I'll take a tall one shot house vodka with cranberry juice. ( Cape Cod )

You forgot  Taco Bell. Pasadena Denny's. The Pearland IHOP. Not to mention the Wendy's near the Hobby Airport. There's a few Cracker Barrels here too.
