Education options are fine and finite. Anyone who wants to deal with the VA for free aspirin etc., has way too much time on their hands. How does a 2-4 year commitment translate to free anything for life? This is another reason why the US is so far in debt. We can't do everything for everybody, all the time, including for life.

Fair enough... But it's a hell of an incentive to serve.
