Given our offensive line, we need as many QBs as we can get our hands on.

I hope we got something worth while because trading AJ is a big risk.  I have very little confidence in either of our QBs being able to survive the season without getting some kind of injury.

Well, I guess you aren’t wrong. You did not say which team they would see action for.  ?

Do we bring in another QB? I just have zero confidence in our O line keeping our guys upright...

I think this locks Alien in as Day 1 starter. Pickpeterman showed enough to stick around for another year, but not start ahead of the 7th overall Pick at extraordinary cost

That's how I am reading the tea leaves...

Maybe that’s shows we really weren’t interested in what acquiring would do to the process and our long term plan.  Acquiring Mack changes a lot.

would be terribly dramatic and affect future state thinking. Budget limitations for one.

Huge capital investment for player that could get hurt day one. Not likely from hindsight. But we are The Bills..

We must have set a record for dead cap space. It's like the early Snyder era Redskins, when they signed every free agent who was 35+ years old to a 5 year deal, only to cut them 8 months later.

Snyder needed him for a big party he was throwing and it was only way to guarantee they were there.

It’s just currency for Beane. He LOVES to move up. The extra 4th, 5th and 7th could help them get another pick in the 1st 3 rounds.

Beane thinks he's Ralphie's Dad at the Christmas Tree lot.

I still think it’s Peterman.

Allen was great week 2, but I think Peterman won the job fair and square from what I saw of him in preseason. He was consistently the best QB and produced with the 1’s, 2’s and 3’s.

I think this just means that they have enough confidence in Allen to put him next in line. He was better than AJ so again, he earns the #2 spot fair and square.

McDermott has taken many an opportunity to talk up Nate, too. Kind of reminds me of the way Rex took every chance to talk up Tyrod in 2015 before he won the starting job.

Lorenzo Alexander even said he’d start Nate. So it seems that he has the backing of at least some of his veteran teammates.

That is just my guess anyway. I may be way off base though. You may be right. It very well could be Allen day 1.

Edit - plus as I’ve said all along, it’s much easier to go from Peterman to Allen than vise versa. You really only get 1 shot to start Allen (once he’s in, he’s in. Well most likely, anyway), so you better be sure.

I think he gets the start vs Raisins.

starting rookie projects and inexperienced 2nd year guys sounds fun if you're a fan. When every loss goes on your permanent record you might think differently

or perhaps not ,

join me for some crow

More dead dead presidents. :)

We saved money by cutting him. About $1 million this year and $5 million next year. We will have over $60 million in cap space next season.

give me a break. How about we just try win this yeAr for a change.

bills fans are not only long suffering  but also the most patient fan base I've ever been around.

We are a defending playoff team. I wish we could act like it instead of all the sniveling about not being good and next year and golden tickets (draft picks).

Although many will no doubt be happy because it smells like tanking.

we did not do it last year and heck no we are not doing it this year.
should be thankful we lucked into playoffs last year, us minions all.

/sarcasm

i think the Bills FO is trying each day to improve. while thinking long term consistency

I think it's Peterman too. The only reasoning I can think of not to name a starter yet is that they were dangling either Peterman or AJ in trade and whomever didn't get dealt would be the starter for the first 4-8 games before handing the reigns to the rook.

If Allen was going to be the starter they could have announced it long ago, got him his reps and likely sold more tickets.

Then again, what do I know. It's all just speculation.

All the best to McCarron.

A few weeks ago he was getting half of the first team reps Allen should have been getting and now those reps vs the 1s D are lost. Funny, the fan polls a few weeks ago also wanted McCarron as the Week 1 starter. So fickle the fan, so lost McClown who had  the audacity to say he was "absolutely" in the mix to start next week.

Tell that to Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, and Kyle Williams.

And, those aren't "most." You know he said "most" right? Are you disputing that most don't pan out?

On the down side, New Era just got uglier on Sunday’s.
