Speaking strictly for me, I think you have confusion between "hate the team" and "worry about results".  I don't think anyone is trying to "bring others down", but for me, it's been hard to watch our OL during these preseason games and feel good about our chances this upcoming season.

I also think many who hold the various opinions you mention are not the same folks.  But there are some here who have BBFS (Buffalo Bills Fan Syndrome) borne of decades of incompetence and mediocrity.  It's hard to believe we can have nice things.

The last two sentences make sense to me.  It's some kind of defense mechanism.

In most football minds out there, he has built the worst roster in the NFL.

The playoffs last year was largely on Whaley's moves.

The guy wasted way too many picks on a QB that just doesn't have the football IQ and then traded even more to draft a LB.

LOL the irony of this post and your name is too much!!

So this morning there's all this talk about how the GM is horrible because he didn't trade for Mack, how we'll stink this year, about how a rookie WB who has yet to play an actual game is a bust.  And on and on.

So my simple question is whay are you here if you hate this team so much?  Do you take some kind of weird pleasure in trying to bring others down?  Is it some kind of bizarre self-defense mechanism?  What?

Same kind of talk this time last year, and they made the playoffs.

Have you ever known a guy who does nothing but complain about his girlfriend to the point you think he will quit going out with her within the next week, and then two weeks later you found out he is engaged.    That guy is the same as the guys you are talking about.  Love can be a funny thing to some.

roughly 10 of my 46 years as a fan were above mediocre for the Bills, 6 with Jim Kelly were excellent

Hmm, I can't go as high as excellent for a team that always found a way to lose the SB.  Those were my college years, I never expected the Bills to be so bad for so long after. Lesson learned!

These are many of the pieces of the final product and it is not positive.

I'm a huge believer in football IQ is a god given ability.  It can't be taught.  When push comes to shove, everyone goes back to their instincts.  Allen has never had good football instincts.

Football IQ,Hahahaha.

Its innate uh?

We should all be good little obedient boys and love everything the team does or else your fanhood gets questioned!

Repeating how terrible we’re going to be this year is like yelling “We’re all going to die!” on a plane during turbulence. If you’re right, the “I told you so” really isn’t going to make you happy.

Learned behavior.....and by the way, have you seen them yet this pre season?

Pre Season is meaningless one way or the other from a team perspective.   Very few teams know what they'll be based on those games.  I don't know if you were around for the super bowl years, but if you were in sure you recall the horrid pre season performances and the meltdowns that followed on radio post game shows.

They ain't the Super Bowl teams level of  good by far, but I suspect the current Bills will be about the same as they were last season. Average with a chance to sneak in the playoffs.

And this is the kind of utter dumb!@#$ery that makes me question whether or not the Bills have anything remotely resembling an intelligent fanbase.

Shock. Wrong again. WAY too many overpriced and undertalented people on the roster. Not to mention AGING.

Changing the scheme every other year might have had something to do with that.

Certainly. Which is why beane and McDermott need to get the full 5 years they have coming.

I don't think there is a chance they get 5 if this team slips to 5 or less wins for the next 2 years. There is no salary cap excuse next year, and this roster is going to need a lot more than just a draft.

Whether or not FANS like it, it’s what is necessary. 3 year windows for coaches and gms is why this team has been a long term failure.

Not letting the GM hire the coach and grabbing guys like Jauron, Mularkey, Marrone, and Rex sure didn't help. I won't argue the need for continuity, I just don't think it will happen.
