It really doesn’t matter. I think NFL teams overvalue draft picks and undervalue proven veterans. Thats the extent of it. Now that's a fair enough statement but not what you were saying earlier. First round draft picks are extremely valuable and can be used to obtain proven veterans or top notch prospects. You inferred that they were not very important because they might not be used properly. That's not the problem with the draft pick itself but with the person choosing who to pick with the draft pick.
Needle Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 The Bears are going to be good. That defense has a ton of playmakers and youth. Raiders on the other hand are going to be a dumpster fire during Grudens tenure. He should have stayed in the booth.

We were never giving up 2 1st round picks or paying him QB money. Yes it would have been amazing to have such a great pass-rusher but we have to move on. It all would have cost way too much.

My whole point was the Bills weren’t going to trade the picks for Mack because they were afraid to give them up. And I feel like most of the time we just waste them anyway and I think they should be more willing to trade them for proven talent.

As an aside, I find it funny that some Bills fans have probably now dedicated more time to this thread and the issue of what is going to happen to Mack than actually watching a Bills game. I'm talking about the 4th pre-season game, admittedly, against the Bears, and it was a **** show for almost all of it, but still. I find it really weird that a Bills fan who lives at this forum would then not actually watch a Bills game, but chime in over and over about Khalil F-ing Mack.

You clearly stated that 1st round draft picks weren't all that important. I thought that was a rather ridiculous statement when in the same paragraph you stated that mid round draft pics could bring good players. I haven't seen this regime too afraid to give up draft pics and I certainly haven't seen them just waste them anyway. I'll be sitting on pins and needles waiting for your latest revision of the statement I first objected to.
C.Biscuit97 Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 I respect teams going big. This might pay off long term for the Raiders but I would hate it if I was a fan.
