Teams are like family, they get each other's back, support each other, work hard for each other. There is deep from the gut (and heart) motivation the closer you get to the ideal team environment. The thought of the Bills "shopping" AJMC during last night's game is anti-team and all business. With such blatant business moves (and others) happening like it's no big deal, how are they supposed to be a team? The more a team actually becomes a team the chances for them to do something great improves dramatically. Obviously there will turnover, attrition, trades, roster moves, vets make way for the rookies, etc. But should the Bills back away from the cold hard business a little bit and focus more on the idea of a true team? It can't be faked. It as to be real. The only way to make it real is to deal with your roster with more respect and dignity. Granted, there may at times be a fine line but its also pretty well understood. Take this weeks episode of the show for example. McD talks about putting phones in a basket and when they break bread together so they are interacting at dinner like a family. You are a part of it until you arent. I like Peterman but his arm strength is going to be an issue. Pretty sure coach had better chance at losing the locker room starting him last season then not starting him this season. Different results thus far. He'll probably play his way to the bench but he's earned the job and looks like the QB that gives the team the best chance to win week 1. The bold area is exactly the stone cold business you suggest they should back away from a little bit. There really is no such thing as a team filled with deep from the gut and heart felt motivation for one another. Rarely do you see it from one team mate to another. These guys love football and they love money and they love the chicks and they love the celebrity that comes with it. How many PeeWee football players are out on a field thinking "If I could just grow up and be part of a team and love all my team mates. That would be the best!" NONE! They all say they want to make a spectacular last second play and be the reason their team won the Super Bowl and they want to be filthy stinking rich with really hot chicks hanging all over them. Sure you hear it occasionally from players when being interviewed how great their team mate is, how they work so hard together blah blah blah. You think they're going to go on National TV and tell you how much of a D-Bag one of their team mates is? Or who doesn't give 100% every play? Unless it's a blowhard like Jalen Ramsey or some other off their rocker player, it doesn't happen. These players are very well coached to give canned responses to questions from reporters. Don't buy the garbage they spew out of their mouths and think the whole thing can be improved upon. If that could happen it would have happened long before now. I have no problem with that. He looked really good in the pre-season last year. How did that turn out. Also McCoach is the one who makes the decisions on who starts. He screwed up last year. If I'm Beane and McDermott I take a stand and refuse to make cuts. Tell Goodell we are suiting up 96 guys on Sundays. What are they gonna do, shoot us?
