Tom Brady is better than Aaron Rodgers.  This is what they will say 20 years from now.

Why?  Brady was smart enough to take less money or structure his money in a way to have better teams that compete for championships year in and year out.

Rodgers will be the Dan Marino of the late 10s.  Great quarterback on an otherwise mediocre team that will struggle to get in the playoffs.

100% agree.  He is great at his job, and incredibly intelligent.  That said, he isn't exactly humble about knowing either of those things.  It's off putting.

He is a great player.  But, he isn't Tom Brady and its not all that close.

Interestingly, I can’t think of a player more off- putting than Tom Brady. And it isn’t close.

If Rodgers had Belichick instead of Mike McCarthy, he has a few more rings.  They kept the corpse of Don Capers and his hair piece for 10 years when it was clear the league passed him by.

Crazy move by GB.  The guy had 2 years left on his contract and he's been in the league for 14 years.  He's broken both collar bones, missed half the season last year.

Super Bowl XLV was a long time ago....

Rodgers won a SB and has a higher winning %.

Yup.  They should have just let Kizer take over.

The Packers will never win another Super Bowl with Rodgers. No money left for defense!

Right.  Because defense played a major role in last year's Super Bowl.

1100+ combined total offensive yards

Nearly 900 combined yards passing

74 combined points

Defense seems critically important!

In this league you need a great, accurate passer, and guys who can consistently catch the ball.  The rest can be filler, avg. NFL talent, and your'e all good.

Why would they have to do that?  Why not let Rodgers play another year into his current extension before emptying the bank on him?  He's not going anywhere.

Brady doesn't need any more money is why.

Tom and his wife are worth between 350-500 million dollars.

If that's the case, then the Bills are screwed. We always go for the "run-first" approach, coupled with a stout defense. Every offensive coordinator & HC that has come here the past decade+ has stated that was going to be their philosophy.

The Packers had all of that and haven't been to the SB since 2010.  They are 5-6 in playoff games since.

It's an extension of his current contract.  He will be signed thru 2023.

No details yet but GB will probably use his next 2 years to dilute some of the signing bonus cap hit dollars.

Then I guess our steady string of 7,8, and 9 win seasons shouldn't be a big surprise.

To the organization's defense, they are largely adopting that approach all the time b/c they do not have access to the great passer.  In the same breath, they should be criticized for not pursuing one aggressively, historically speaking.

I'm not talking about the current regime; they did go after their guy and got him.  That's the right approach; I just think they took the wrong guy.  But that remains to be seen.

This is why I want him to play all the time.  Find out what he is so we can move on to the next one if we have to.  Until we have that guy, we don't have much.

Doesn't matter really.  He gets 57 million when he signs.  He won't be around in 2023.

That remains to be seen.  Rodgers will turn 39 during that season.

He missed half the season when his remaining intact collarbone snapped.

There was no downside to waiting another year to offer all that money.  They will be a wild card bid for the playoffs this year.

Well, his contract now in 3-4 years will seem normal after the next batch of QBs get paid and IMO he is worth every single penny, you don't stinge out on your franchise's greatest player. Favre was my idol in the 90s, but with that said, Favre was no Aaron Rodgers.
