I have no problem with them starting Peterman and see where he takes them.  If he does well, keep playing him.  If not, insert Allen.  What's so wrong with that approach?

Nothing if you want to delay the development of a qb that you traded up to take with the 7th overall pick.

Allen just turned 22 and has been focusing on football for less than 5 years. I highly doubt riding the bench for 8 games will delay his development all that much. There's a fair argument to be made that putting him behind our line before he's gotten used to NFL game speed will delay his development a lot more.
