Why do we need a deep threat when it appears that the starting QB is going to be a guy who can't even throw a deep out route?  With that said...Coleman is here now.  Might as well let him run up and down the field for a few weeks.

Because the plan is long term, not having NP as the QB for any appreciable length of time. If Coleman can be a deep threat WR, you keep him around. It’s a big if right now, but the money says they won’t give up on it so fast. Maybe by mid season he’s contributing.

I don't see Ray Ray being high on anyone's waiver wire wish list. Potential yes , production very limited against 3rd stringers . I also don't see him making the squad outright, but I've been wrong many times so what do I know.

...and because we have at least a "potential" threat who could pay big dividends locked in at a low price (about 1.5 million in 2018, and 2 million in 2019).

Good point. WR money is getting bigger by the minute. It’s worth the small investment to see if anything pans out. He’s only been here a few weeks. I think they’ll hang on to Coleman for awhile before they decide to move on or not.

Indeed.  Boatdrinks, remember when we were paying (a few years ago, mind you) Percy Harvin 6 million dollars...and he did almost nothing.

They need to find some long term answers at WR so the investment in a young player who was a high draft pick just two years seems a worthy one at its cost.  Benjamin wont be here in 2019 (I'd be shocked) Is Zay Jones the player who set records at college or the invisible man from last year  Rest are scrubs/special teams guys
