We needed interior d-line help. Next question?

Just because the Bills need interior d like help, it doesn’t give an excuse to give a huge contract to a mediocre player.

They were averaging 1 yard per carry when they were up 20-0.

I didn't like Star to begin with and I hated the contract we gave him, but the run defense was absolutely fine when it mattered today. Vontae Davis was a much larger issue.

yeah..the guy is being paid 10 million a year..im expecting a bigger impact for that kinda contract

In saying that it’s way too early to say it’s awful, but I was never a fan of the signing personally

Who would you have signed?

I guess my point is I agree with you in what Star is....only that if your going to have a player like that starting (the guy that makes it difficult to run on) then you have to generate your pass rush in other ways.....He gives us what Marcel have us for a lot less

Marcel was lazy. But when he wanted could get up the field and push the pocket. This is why I say Aaron Darnold (i know Rams are not trading him) would impact Bills more than Mack.

With Star Frozen on the LOS every QB and just easily negate any DE pressure by steping up

Poe or Benie Logan would give you what star does at half the price

I’m not the GM of the team so I can’t really say and recall all the scenarios they could have done.

But what say I’ll is this:

You don’t give big contracts to mediocre players just to fill needs. That’s not a way to build a successful team.

Take a flyer on a guy, draft one, address the position next year. I can assure you there were/are better options than giving star 10 mil a year

That is kinda the point.....we cant just say a player would make us better when they are not even available to us and then complain on the way the bills handled it.....I think the DT we drafted this year will be strong for us this year.

The bills can only do what they can do.....Marcel was not motivatable (Sp) and he hasnt looked good in pre season in the jags games I have seen.......we will probably have to draft another player to go along with Horrible Harry here.

Ok but Poe and Logan would do what Star does. At half the PRICE and leaving some cap space to MAYBE address OL????

If the Bills only allow 1 yard per carry like they did while he was on the field today, he's worth the money. He did what he was supposed to do today; pretty much nobody else did.

Why is it that every time a poster is called out for their strong opinion and asked to give their opinion on a alternate way it could have  been done they immediately go those this.

Basically you are saying "I want it fixed" "I dont agree with you on the way you are fixing it" "I dont know how to fix it but fix it"

I personally like Logan....I am hearing Poe is kinda soft which gives me visions of Washington.....

Go back and take a look at how many rush yards the starting Bengals RB's had....

They killed us because we could not generate a pass rush and their WR's were running wide open.....that is not Star's fault

With all the crap we watched from the Bills, we don't need to make up another one. Run D was fine. No pass rush and poor coverage is concern enough.

Point is could have had Logan/Poe and a Spencer Long at Center (not talking OG because Crazy Richie was on team still)

instead have Star and Bodine

Because I don’t make millions of dollars making these decisions... I simply am a fan and observe the players on the Bills. I have no idea what the Bills could have done differently as I don’t study free agents, contracts, college football etc...But what I do know is Star looks bad and he’s making way too much money.

Do you not agree with that?

The discussion would be more fruitfull if it was not just a B word session on the way they went about it?

Not everyone agrees with Major Bobby.....but in credit to him he does come up with alternate ways they could have gone about it....its much better then just a B word session

But I don’t really understand where you are coming from...

So you’re saying it’s justified for a mediocre team to overpay for a mediocre player just because they have a need? Is that actually what you’re saying?

For what Star Brings. Bennie Logan at half thr price.

For the record I agree with you on this

The problem happens when you are trying to get the player and dont have the relationship with the agent like another team does or whatever.....who knows
