OldTimeAFLGuy Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 ...this guy is tough as nails to read.....if Josh shines today, is he McD's clear "odds on choice" to start?......OR...do we take his continual QB rotations in TC and pre-season to date as an indicator as to where he may be leaning with Josh working extensively with the "3's"?.....with AJ dinged, does McD make Peterman his supposed, "safe bet" for now?...thoughts??..........
wppete Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 Simple. If Allen comes out and looks like he did last week McD names him the starter for game 1. 2
CLTbills Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 I think if he Shines, McD is a fool for continuing the QB competition song and dance.... and McD is no fool. 2
BillsPride12 Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 If Allen shines today the decision really becomes easy...simple as that. 1
Warcodered Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 It would be awfully hard to justify not starting Josh in the locker room. 1
Woodman19 Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 It's telling that they had no intention of him starting but here we are because of his play. He certainly has built up some inertia.

Seanbillsfan2206 Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 I feel like there is a thread right below this one discussing the same exact thing...

He certainly has built up some inertia. He was a top ten pick. They all start pretty darn quick. I’d suspect that him starting fast wouldn’t be a shock to anyone involved and his “rotation” getting him to start week 3 is no mistake.

Fr. Jerk Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 If Allen shines then Sean takes the next obvious step in thier relationship: 1
Taro T Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 Not a fan of him starting behind this line, especially if Ducasse is still starting come week 1. But if he looks good today, it is a no brainer to give him the keys against the Ravens. 1
Augie Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 I really think they wanted to take it slow and be cautious with him in the beginning. If his play is so good you feel compelled to start him, that’s a good “problem” to have! ? But I’ll also pray the OLine comes together in a hurry!
Paulus Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 Should this be merged with the "what if Allen isn't good" thread?
Kwai San Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 Clappy McClapper will start Allen today.......after that? All bets are off. Who knows......it will be what it will be.
Augie Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 Just now, Paulus said: Should this be merged with the "what if Allen isn't good" thread? Then would we call it “what if Allen is mediocre” thread?
