SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 Lol. A place where English teachers pronounce the days of the week Mondee, Tuesdee, Wendnesdee, etc etc
Fr. Jerk Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 I vaguely recall a time when people were polite. People used these things called headphones. Nowadays everyone blasts music and video from their phones as if they are the only people walking around in public.
Cripple Creek Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 That is one of the more effed up things i have seen from a teacher.
RaoulDuke79 Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 I got detention in high school for using the term asinine. Evidently they gym teacher thought it was profane.
LeGOATski Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 So, she said stop and he didn't. She must've thought he was pushing her buttons. Does seem like a huge waste of time. Priorities.
Chef Jim Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 Great reporting as usual. I’d like to know why the teacher has an issue with being called ma’am and what she’d prefer to be called. 3

I was in an airport a few years ago and there was a couple watching home made porn on one of their phones 1

Johnny Hammersticks Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 Must be a NE transplant teacher. When I worked in NC it was odd to hear a child not refer to me as sir. That’s just the south.

Todays LW gender blurring and out of touch mindset consider the singly one as Ma'am or Sir as presumptive and hence, a slur.

Maybe @The Poojer can chime in because I know he’s been doing some hikes lately, but the last few that I’ve been out, I’ve come across people that have their music playing, no headphones. Not loud enough to be disturbing, but loud enough I could hear them before I saw them.

Fadingpain Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 That's a crappy little article. It mentions the meeting, and the fact that the mother asked the teacher why she was upset with the use of the word "ma'am" but it doesn't mention her response, which is the only thing interesting about this story. Why did this upset her and how did she interpret the word to be disrespectful? Article doesn't say. North Carolina.
