Last week, the Bills starting offense was shut down under A.J. McCarron and last night pitched a shutout against the Eagles. I know it’s just preseason, but is the Browns defense that much improved this year under Gregg Williams?

A healthy Myles Garrett also helps.

That defense looks legit, especially the Front 7.  It's going to come down to the secondary on how good they can be.  I know they drafted Ward due to the need to bolster their secondary but my goodness, Garrett and Chubb would've been filthy.

Foles was also hot garbage.  I was totally wrong wanting the Bills to trade for him, much less their 2nd-1st rounder.

They look much improved. Penalties are killing them, however.

And as we saw under Rex, nothing like a ton of penalties to keep drives alive and take the wind out of the defenses sails.

I foresee flashes of dominance followed by stupid, undisciplined penalties.

I think they will be pretty good on D, but not as good as they look right now.  Watching them, they are showing way more than normal for the preseason.  Greggo is trying to look good, IMO.

It has crossed my mind that "some" first string players are treating preseason like the pro bowl...

Who in their right mind wants to risk injury?

It should be interesting to see where the Browns D ends up at the end of the year in rankings. If they are as good as they’ve looked in the preseason, then I’m even more impressed with how Josh Allen performed against them last week.

This is why G. Williams is a horrible d cord. He shows his hand too early.

While everyone is playing vanilla, he comes out with blitz’ and overloads.

When it counts, they will have him already figured out.

Garrett is a special player. He is going to dominate whoever he's up against.

I still think they should have taken Chubb over Ward, but they'll be a very good unit.

Isnt blitz and overloads the 'vanilla' stuff in a Greg William's defence?

They obviously think highly of Ogbah and they really needed help at corner.  Ward will be very good for them.

Yeah it looks like they have the makings of a monster defense.

They look pretty good.  It is preseason, though.

D looks ok.

How many points did they score? Do you really think they're going to hold opposing offenses to 14 points or less? Nope, they're not that dominating.
