That’s my guess. I don’t know the specifics. It’s 2 high picks and Hughes.

I wonder what other "teams with whom Khalil would sign an extension" are included on the list Mack's agent gave to the Raiders?  The only way the Raiders get a premium is after the terms of an extension are worked out with the new team.  If that list is pretty narrow and it's basically the Bills as first choice and everyone else down the list...the Raiders and Bills may meet in the middle with a little pot sweetening by Beane.   This is the only place where Mack and his agent have leverage.  He can, within reason, narrow where he goes.

The Bills have some cap room to maneuver.  About $11.6 Million in space and they pick up another $3.4 by moving Hughes.  An immediate extension is doable and still leave some room for rollover or injury signing.

I would do 2019 - 1; 2020-1, Hughes

For Mack; Raiders 2019-2 and in an ideal world Raiders 2020-3 or 4

In Mack, we are talking about a durable difference maker who can disrupt an offensive game plan.  You are adding Mack to some really, really good pieces the Bills already have and the Bills key D pieces are locked up for a while (Other than Kyle who is year to year anyway).  Immediately, Mack helps cover up the weakness at right corner and SLB with an appreciably better pass rush.  He allows the corners to play more in the face like McD wants.

No one would have batted an eye if we would have given up both first rounders this year for a potential franchise QB.  It's very true that the Bills don't know if they have one in Josh Allen, but Beane is likely willing to bet that the Bills do, based on what he has seen.  To not pursue Mack because you doubt that Allen is a franchise QB is just downright stupid for Beane.  It's akin to him admitting that 4 months ago he made a big bet on the future of the franchise and you already feel you made a mistake.

Beane also maneuvered to keep enough assets to draft a dynamic athlete LB in round 1 -- who could be an amazing player but is yet unproven.  I believe Beane has been really smart with the assets he's been given thus far.

If Beane makes a move for Mack..It will be controversial -- but it would also show confidence in what he has built to date.  We all expect next year to be a contention year.  Mack would be in my mind the first 2019 personnel move and propel the Bills forward.

Beane doesn't have the balls to get Mack. Forget about it Bills fans.

All GMs and coaches have a 3-4 year window to produce ... don't think for a second that they aren't willing to part with future assets .. especially 2020 picks.

Only way this happens is if the Pegulas make it happen. I don't think Beane was agressive enough to get a QB. That's a QB. He will not be agressive trying to aquire a pass rusher.

I would give up a first next year and 2nd the following year, plus Shaq and not think twice about it.

I know picks are valuable, but there’s no one in next years draft that is going to give you the value you get from Mack. He’s arguable the best defensive player in the league and young.  He would change our defense.

We also easily have the money to pay him.

His jersey sales would be through the roof.

That would be my best offer as well - possibly throw in a 5th or 6th somewhere too.  You’re right that the jersey and merch sales would partially offset the contract price.

Glad it happened AFTER we played them. Mack would have killed McCarron. Killed him.

1. He wouldn't have played in 4th preseason game.

2. I'm pretty sure we still have to play them

3. I'm going to Chicago and taking a dump on their stadium and on halas' grave

1. I think he'd get some snaps if they pulled off this trade a week ago.

2. Damn.
