Mack is not going to happen under this regime. No chance Beane invests so much cap room in a single player at this point of the rebuild. If he does, we should all be outraged...

A trade like this only happens under a regime who has no clue on how to build a team responsibly, like Whaley/Ryan.

Why should we be outraged at paying an elite game changing player about to enter his prime?

Because, at the moment, we don't know if there is a franchise QB on the roster yet.

Until you have a franchise QB, you don't trade valuable rebuilding picks and give stupid money to a DE, regardless of your deep, burning desire to wear a red, white and blue jersey with the number 52 on the front and back of it.

On the other hand playing with a lead  (good D) vs playing from behind helps give a more conservative approach to an OC's game plan in my humble opinion.

So I can see Mack being beneficial for both sides of the football including a young QB in development IMO.

Mack would help Allen shoulder the weight of the franchise...

If Mack had been on the team on Sunday, would they have beaten the Bengals?  Would Mack's presence alone have inspired the starting offensive line to effectively pass block for Allen?

I believe Dalton wouldn't have felt as comfortable to make the majority of the throws he made that helped propel the Bengals to the win. That pass to Ross definitely wouldn't have happened!!

Do you think a player like Ray Lewis could change the outcome of a game? Bills fans have personally watched him do it to us.

I'm not talking about one preseason game that means very little in the grand scheme of things.

In general teams that have a good D can win football games taking less chances on Offense making it better proving grounds for young QB prospects in my humble opinion Cornette.

Two firsts could just get you up to a top 5ish type pick where you can get a top young DL prospect in a DEEP DL draft that you’d have control of for 4-5 years....and for FAR less than $20+ mil/year.

I’d love Mack, but....

We definitely need a pass rush i only remember one sack this preseason and thats Phillips Would love to see Mack in a Bills jersey give them a 1st & jerry or trent

Khalil Mack is awesome. I want him on this team regardless of price. Also, Peterman is our Franchise QB. He's here. No more years of waiting. Josh Allen can wait though. He can wait another 3 years.

Most important players:

1. Elite QB

2. Elite pass rusher

2 a. Elite pass protector

* Note : obtain 2 and 2a by any means and in any order possible. Draft, FA, trade whatever.

prospect is the key word

mack is an established elite pass rusher

i'm not saying i'm all in for 2 first rounders, but i'm definitely not fully against it either, although next year's first is prob gonna be top 10 so i'm not too sure i want to give that up

True, Mack is for real and you know what you’re getting. The talent....and the cap hit. Anyone you draft is more of a gamble, but this year is supposed to be VERY deep at DL. All things considered, that’s too rich for me in picks and $$$.

That's the risk you take as they drafted two 1st round DB's (Dee Milliner and Calvin Pryor) in the following two drafts that both were busts.  However, they did get Sheldon Richardson with that specific pick.  You have to trust your front office if you're going to depart with a player of Mack's quality.

My Son is losing his mind and ready to quit the Raiders. cuz Gruden and Mack.
can only wonder what the hard core Fan base is thinking these days ?

That is not a relative comparison is it ?

This.  And, if the team is going to be as bad as people believe it will be, why would anyone NOT want a chance at Nick Bosa, Ed Oliver, Clelin Ferrell, Dexter Lawrence, Christian Wilkins, Montez Sweat, Zach Allen etc.  Not to mention a chance at a franchise OT like Trey Adams or Michael Deiter..

Look, I get that people loved Mack when he was at UB and they wished Whaley had taken him over Watkins (in hindsight, he should have taken Mack).  But, I'm not willing to stand by and watch this team give away 2 years of 1sts and more, just so people can wear red, white and blue jerseys with the number 52 on the front and back.

I actually disagree with 2a.

My list is:

1. Elite QB

power gap

2. Elite pass rusher

3. Elite skill position player (WR/TE/RB)

Elite pass protectors are nice, but your LT just plays the left side.  A prime Shady or Gurley or AB can hurt you a ton of ways, an LT is stuck at LT.

If the contract signed yesterday by Beckham is any guide, you should move WR to number 2 on your list.

Interesting viewpoint. While overall the RB position has been devalued, Gurley has brought it back to the forefront somewhat. When judging by NFL salaries , after QB it seems to be pass rushers, then WR, LT and CB as the highest paid. If using salary as an indicator of the value placed on players by NFL teams. I get the WRs as the passing game is where the NFL is at these days, but you still need a guy that excels at keeping your QB upright for the  WR to put up numbers.

he's worth 2 firsts if he's elite

that's how I look at it

Let's look at the bills:

say you took 2 drafts in a row

cj spiller + marcel dareus vs mack?

i'd take mack

(using that as an example)
