Needle
This is a thread for those that want to complain about an expense in their life. Here is mine: Daycare 1. Two kids in for four days a week (1 already done) $2,000-$2,400 a month depending on 4-5 week month. 2. My 7 year olds dance class, twice a week $250 a month. That one is not happening because she isn't in love with dance. Still blows my mind that I had to talk my wife out of it. Let's hear yours. Hookers and blow type answers are welcome too. Fadingpain
When I was driving and parking in a garage every day in downtown DC, near the White House, I was paying $240 a month. That was back in 2003 too! It still hurts!
ExiledInIllinois
Nothing. I live in Midwest, South of Chicago. It's a wasteland here and cheap. You can find a fixer upper for cheaper than a new car. Sprawl to Indiana. Private Catholic High School is $1,000 month. Just like Buffalo. My son does go to University of Iowa. Rent is $800/month. Split in half w/GF, $400. Heck, he can by a house and commute in. Out in sticks... $350/mortgage LoL... In town (Iowa City), forget about it, much higher. Now... Tuition another story, but scholarships are lowering it greatly. I am basically paying whay I sent him to High School for. Taxes... Another story, but not bad. Gugny
My son is a guitarist. A talented one. In the last three years, he's amassed about $4500 worth of guitars, amps, pedals and accessories. He's paid for at least a third of it (he's 15) and appreciates every bit of it. I couldn't be happier and I love supporting his passion. Soccer/hockey/baseball/softball parents spend at least that much. Their kids are athletes. My son is a musician. I'm totally cool with it.

RaoulDuke79
Not a huge expense, but mainly a pet peeve. We're always being solicited to give money for school. Not for extra circular activities, but for classroom stuff, field trips, supplies etc.....what am I paying school taxes for?
boyst
$9/mo on water $40/mo electric $118.51/mo on cell phone No idea what I pay a month for insurance on my house and vehicles but probably less than $100 I guess my water bill is too damn high because I don't even meet the minimum. Captain_Quint
I spend $1400-$2000 every 10 days on gas, and gas is only $2.60/gal right now. I have a steel tank that I haul down to the boat so I'm saving alot of money doing that. If I fill at the port, its $3.25/gal minimum.

One dood here is always talking about the inland waterways and other dam things (please, for the love of all that is holy, if you know the poster I’m referring to, never bring up Asian carp with him/her). He’s always posting pics, vids etc. Between you and I, really boring stuff. I know yours would be better.

Soda Popinski
In 2007 I pulled an equity line to open a restaurant with my brother, we sold it in 2008 at a pretty huge loss. So i've been carrying around that $400 a month for the past 10 years. Frustrating when I think of all the other things I could be doing with that money. Daughter in college right now, we pay her health insurance, car insurance, cell phone bill, and I'm sure a host of other things the wife doesn't tell me about even though I'm fine with it. That's gotta be close to $250 a month Mortgage 1400 a month vehicle payments 230+300=530 a month we were paying storage on the boat, but I sold it so that's 30 a month back in my pocket Power bill in Florida is around 300 a month cell phones 200 Directv 100 Hell I don't know how we do it some times and other times I wonder why we don't sell the house, downsize everything and cut off everything and just have money. Johnny Hammersticks
Fuel oil here in Vermont. Depending on the price of oil, I can easily spend $800-$1000 per month in the winter to heat my home. My daughter’s new preschool costs $170 per week. They better be teaching her advanced geometry and trigonometry, and not just fingerpainting and singing all day long. Finally, my wife and her online shopping. We had a “spat” last week when I was cleaning out the closet in the foyer. She had 11 North Face spring jackets in there...3 of them still had the tags on them. Her philosophy is if something is on sale and she doesn’t buy it, regardless of whether she actually needs it, we are losing money in the long run. The freaking UPS truck is at our house every single day.
