I dont get it. We just watched them. I do think their defense has a chance to be elite with Garrett and the linebackers - but they have Tyrod and look what we did to him after that first touchdown drive. Also, they still have Hue Jackson. One way I could reconcile it is that the rest of the division is expected to be real ****ty (we play one game against the division - Ravens week 1). The only other way is Hue is fired early and Tyrod demoted.

They have nowhere to go but up. Even winning just 4 games would be more than double the amount of games they have won over the past 2 years.

and they  picked up some veteran FAs in Hyde, Landry, and Tyrod. They are improved, at least on paper.

That said, I hope they win 3 games this season.

Wrong.  They could stay the same.

There is a larger than you'd think contingent of media and pundits that want to see Tyrod Taylor be successful and felt the Bills never gave him a chance.

He happens to play for the Browns.

(FWIW, I like Tyrod.  I also think the Bills treated him fairly and gave him all the opportunity in the universe.)

That defense is stacked. They have fantastic depth at key positions. Tyrod just has to be Tyrod for them to do well. Not turn the ball over. Pick up some yards with his legs. Hit Njoku and Landry short and hand the ball to 2 very good RBs and a promising rookie.

Unlike Dream Teams of the past where the idea was to just collect talentd players, thr Browns have done a nice job of finding talent in areas that fit their system.

While I do not expect a Jacksonville type turnaround from them, 6-8 wins are absolutely possible. They get a few breaks here and there and yes, I can see them in playoff contention late in the season.

their QB situation is much better with TT and Baker, and the D is staked IMO.. Plus they do have playmakers at WR

They are talented. It’s possible that they have 10 new starters this year. The Browns also added some key reserves and slid former starters to backups. The roster is deep and talented. That’s what people see. It’s a matter of whether or not Hue can maximize it.

Steelers, Ravens and Bengals have been gifted 2 wins for too long making a Wildcard slot for them too easy.

I hope Cleveland can win a couple to help the Bills in that regard.

Because if somehow a miracle happens and they win, people will win huge, so they throw a few bucks down and hope for the miracle. They look like (on paper) they will be a better team, and people now look at the Vegas Golden Knights last year in the NFL and think maybe the Browns can do the same thing. I really dont think anyone truly believes that they are a SB contender, just like most people dont truly believe they will win the Power Ball lottery, but for a few bucks people will take the chance to turn it into something big....

People outside of Buffalo think Tyrod is a decent QB, and everyone thinks that maybe this front office knows what they are doing and will be different this time......

Considering he's the odds on favorite to be first HC fired (better odds than taking the field lol), my guess is going to be no he can't. Pretty sure the sharps can recognize the incongruity between Jackson +300 to be fired (field is +550) and Browns at -170 to go over 5.5 wins. That's a sucker bet imo.

And personally...unless he's hamming it up for Hard Knocks, the guy just doesn't seem like HC material at all.

The defense looks to be really good.

If Tyrod can go 9-7 with Shady and nothing else on offense, he can go at least 7-9 on the browns with the weapons they have. Not to mention that defense is pretty solid.

The x factor is Hue and whether or not he can lead men. I like the Browns and think theyre poised for a pretty solid yr.

Ironically, this is exactly why Buffalo edged out Baltimore for that Wild Card spot last season.
