I certainly wouldn’t say with bravado that Peterman’s game is full of holes. I think he has a great grasp of the game pre-snap and he is undeniably a hard worker with a good attitude. If he were able to be our backup for a few years I would be more than happy with that.

I certainly will because he has demonstrated that's the case.

Why even bother posting more than twitter links if you’re incapable of having a nuanced conversation?

Every thread I click on you’re calling people out that disagree with you and all you ever do is parrot your opinion. If you’re going to tag me and call me out, how about actually discussing it rather than just post one sentence remarks of no substance.

...screw them and post more often bud...differing opinions and respect make this place work....could care less if somebody pees on my leg ...cream rises to the top...skanks sink...welcome MORE often!......

Thanks and yes cream does rise but sometimes Sh...t does to. Especially for those who chug prune juice and Labatts Blue? Sorry couldn’t resist that.

I have a feeling most most of these classless guys never saw Jimbo and Frank play because they weren’t born yet or too young to remember. So for them there is still hope to grow up. For any others older than that I kind of doubt it. i’m  not Saying Josh is the next Jimbo but the poise, confidence and natural ability he has sure as hell reminds me of Jimbo. More than any other QB weve had since Jimbo retired. And I also see a lot of Reich in Peterman. He doesn’t have the greatest arm but he’s smart and not afraid to throw the damn ball. He also beat Clemson when they won the national championship so he’s got confidence and has shown he can do it on a big stage. Yeah he had a miserable first game but so have so many rookies and he’s only getting better as the preseason is showing. Same thing happened in his first start in college and all he did was come back and beat Clemson with a team that was not nearly as talented. He’s also supposed to be extremely smart like Frank so maybe he’ll get into coaching some day. No guarantee he’s the next Reich but I’m optimistic as hell he’s going to be. Go Bills!

You're the one who made the confused look in my post with no explanation. Not sure why you're now acting as if you have been wronged. I have explained my take on Peterman on multiple occasions.

I watched Jim Kelly’s “A Football Life” a couple of days again again and many similarities between Allen and Kelly. At the same age the even looked a like. Let’s hope Allen can be a fraction of what Jom Kelly was for the Bills.

Good things are happening to the Bills! Very excited.

Peterman's game is full of holes. I wouldn't call it solid at all.

@fridge so easily confused by the obvious. ;)

I can feel the Peterman hate bleeding out of your posts. If he does turn out to be a better than average QB the pain and anguish you will go though will be endless.

Hate.   Such a silly word when it comes to evaluating football players.

Why all the love for a 5th round pick who came out of the draft with the scouting report on him being a backup at best?

Who is giving him undo love?  Someone said he has a million holes in his game.  I'm aware of one.....and its a big one.

What are the others?

I can see this happening and think it will happen? Maybe not by opening day but eventually, sooner rather than later. You guys?

PS Sorry if a thread about this has been started but I didn’t see one.

God, I hope not. I don't think my heart is strong enough to endure 4 more consecutive Super Bowl losses.

Yeah that’s my thought. For all of you who think this is a stupid thread go to another. I read here a lot but rarely post because of all the nasty responses. Everybody is entitled to there opinions and we are all Bills fans so why don’t we act maturely and discuss thing civilly. When I was growing up in the area people were much friendlier then a lot of you in this forum. Grow up!

Love how people come here just to make an extraordinarily premature claim and then get pissy when even lightly challenged to, you know, provide some sort of rationale? “Well that’s what I think will happen” doesn’t count. Seriously?

I just hope they’re better than Losman/Holcomb

I predict they will make us forget the glory days of Todd Collins / Alex Van Pelt

Allen is definitely the franchise.

I like that Peterman’s game has seemed to improve since last season. He may be a guy that a team can win a game or two with coming off the bench.

It all remains to be seen but I am optimistic.

I honestly believe they are both better than Tyrod.  Which means both are starting caliber.  After the last game I have concerns over our Oline and believe we would be fine with either starting.  I'd like to see Allen play against ones.

Fergie - Harris ....oh wait apples and oranges again....different era. C'MON MAN.....

Just as reasonable to think MacCarron is comparable to Namath....both played at 'Bama....both have had hot wives.....I hope MacCarron doesn't sign up for a pantyhose commercial.

Nate Peterman ran a really fun offense at Pitt.  Their upset win in Clemson and Deshaun Watson, the soon to be NCAA Champs, was epic.  I think his personality fits that of a #2 more than  #1.  He seems to be a "walk the walk" Christian and the Bills coaches seem to think highly of him.  This does not make him trash.

Frank Reich had a nice career at Maryland.  He came off the bench to lead them in their epic 2nd half comeback to upset the Bernie Kosar led Miami Hurricanes, the NCAA Champs from the previous season.  He was a great #2 to Jim Kelly and his personality fit that role perfectly.  Early in his NFL career he rarely looked good in preseason games and most fans questioned why the coaching staff thought so highly of him and believed the team would be in big trouble if he were ever called upon in a tough spot.

We fans weren't the only ones with little faith in Reich entering the 1989 season.  He had been exposed to the rest of the league in Plan B free agency and there were no takers.

Getting back to the original premise of this thread:

If Allen and Peterman are to become the next Kelly/Reich duo, they need to reserve a special table for Friday lunches at the Orchard Park Café.
