DIEHARD BILLSFAN Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 William,Jenning now Prioleau all found teams for there services rather quickly. why do you thihk that is?
MavBavButav Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 bledsoe got scooped up rather fast too....you think we should have kept him?
Dan Gross Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 In three of the four cases (including Bledsoe) the players were reunited with former coaches... The fourth? Well, it's San Fran...
DIEHARD BILLSFAN Posted March 17, 2005 Author Posted March 17, 2005 bledsoe got scooped up rather fast too....you think we should have kept him? 278627 no I don't last year the coaches designed sinpler game plans for bledsoe suited toward his strenths and that didnt get us into the playoffs. Im off that rollercoaster! If you can play Big in Big games then you shouldnt be a Buffalo Bill.
LabattBlue Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 William,Jenning now Prioleau all found teams for there services rather quickly. why do you thihk that is? 278621 They have good agents who convinced owners to overpay. or Every team knows we have the best talent in the league, therefore they scoop up any Bill that hits the F/A market(I'm not sure why Pucillo hasn't been picked up). or TD doesn't know talent and therefore is letting these guys fly the coop. or all of the above
Campy Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 They have good agents who convinced owners to overpay. or Every team knows we have the best talent in the league, therefore they scoop up any Bill that hits the F/A market(I'm not sure why Pucillo hasn't been picked up). or TD doesn't know talent and therefore is letting these guys fly the coop. or all of the above 278634 Well then, thanks for narrowing it down some.
VABills Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 Or it's possible while these guys may not have been top tier they were 2nd tier guys who were major upgrades over what the team had. Think about Hovan sucked and wasn;t even starting towards the end last year. Name the LT for SF, with out looking it up. Outside of Taylor, who can't stay out of trouble, the safeties for the Skins suck. This seriously upgrades their depth, their special teams, and he may even start at FS. As far as Bledsoe goes, Vinnie was worse then Drew last year and Dallas had 2 pro bowlers on their oline. Vinnie still couldn't get it done. Drew is a huge upgrade over Vinnie and he came relatively cheap for a starting QB. So in every instance these were average to above average players, none are pro-bowlers but were in every instance a huge upgrade for the team they went to. BTW it was Kozier (sp???) and he really sucked, penalized a lot and could not block half the people on this board.
Coach Tuesday Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 They were all signed quickly by organizations who don't know how to draft. FIND THAT FUNNY TOO? That's the lesson that should be taken from this - if you draft well, you don't need to overpay in free agency, if not, you do. (bwahahahahahahahaha.)
Thailog80 Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 One man's trash is another man's treasure. 278636 Tell that to Billszone right now.
respk Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 It would have been nice to keep Williams and Jennings. However, not at the money they got elsewhere. That's one of the downsides to free agency. Other teams can overpay for another teams players. Prioleau, who cares. Bledsoe, it was time to move on.
BillsNYC Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 William,Jenning now Prioleau all found teams for there services rather quickly. why do you thihk that is? 278621 It's because everybody is comparing their teams to the Pats, who have incredible depth, forgetting that 90% of the teams in the NFL have no depth.
R. Rich Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 Tell that to Billszone right now. 278809 Tell it to all Bills fans.
Buftex Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 One man's trash is another man's treasure. 278636 Ain't that the truth? Every NFL castoff, with any name recognition (and even some who have none) has had a link on TSW, devoted to the pros and cons of signing them...by the end, people seem convinced that some guy, that nobody had ever heard of, until their name showed up on the waiver wire or free agency list, is the answer to all of our needs...not sure what is worse, that, or OT's!
MartyBall4Buffalo Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 This might have something to do with why prioleau was snatched up so fast. Redskins | Family Ties - from www.KFFL.com Thu, 17 Mar 2005 18:55:35 -0800 Gary Fitzgerald, of Redskins.com, reports recently signed Washington Redskins S Pierson Prioleau is a second cousin of free agent DL Courtney Brown (Browns). The Redskins have been courting Brown since his release from the Cleveland Browns. Maybe in some weird family courting ritual of signing free agents. This is danny snyder we're talking about here
yall Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 Aside from Winfield, can anyone think of many free agents the Bills have released or not resigned recently that had a significant impact on their new teams?
Buftex Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 Aside from Winfield, can anyone think of many free agents the Bills have released or not resigned recently that had a significant impact on their new teams? 279793 I see your point, but, it should be painifully obvious to everyone, by now, that just because a guy goes somewhere else to play, and doesn't do wel, that does not mean he wouldn't have done well if he had stayed in Buffalo. Some players are great in the right situation, some never really fit in the same with other teams...
ROCCEO Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 Name the LT for SF, with out looking it up. 278667 EASY either Scott Gragg(usually RT) or Kwame Harris(drafted as a LT< starter last year I believe and continuing underachiever)
