wppete Posted August 17, 2018 Posted August 17, 2018 We really haven't seen anything from Trent Murphy in Camp or in the first preseason game. He is coming off a very bad knee injury and a PED suspension. Now it seems like he has a groin issue that is keeping him off the field. Should we start to be concerned if we don't see him in the pre season games? Should Bean seriously look into trying to get Khalil Mack if possible?
YoloinOhio Posted August 17, 2018 Posted August 17, 2018 There is a good analysis and timeline on his injury in the injury thread from Banged Up Bills. 1
Dablitzkrieg Posted August 17, 2018 Posted August 17, 2018 Yes I am worried. Groin injuries linger all season 4 1
njbuff Posted August 17, 2018 Posted August 17, 2018 I wonder if he will ever be healthy enough for us to judge if this was a bad signing or not. 1 2

Johnny Hammersticks Posted August 17, 2018 Posted August 17, 2018 Yes! We should be horribly worried. Terrible FA signing, IMO. 1
TheBeaneBandit Posted August 17, 2018 Posted August 17, 2018 I would keep him rested as much as possible and have him start the season as a pass rusher only until they are sure he is healthy enough for more work. But groin injuries do scare me...... So unpredictable...... 1

Mark Vader Posted August 17, 2018 Posted August 17, 2018 I am concerned, we need to see him in action. He will get on the field, just hope that it's going to be on a consistent basis. 1
BillsFan17 Posted August 17, 2018 Posted August 17, 2018 Absolutely, and im almost ad equally concerned about the Bills fans who dont think we need to upgrade the DE position because we invested money in Murphy. 1
billsbackto81 Posted August 17, 2018 Posted August 17, 2018 (edited) It starting to look like he'll only be useful as a pass rushing specialist, but that's not what his salary would indicate. OBD was wise to keep Shaq around. Edited August 17, 2018 by billsbackto81
26CornerBlitz Posted August 17, 2018 Posted August 17, 2018 (edited) Be worried yes. He's a one hit wonder with injury and PED history. Edited August 17, 2018 by 26CornerBlitz 2
RoyBatty is alive Posted August 17, 2018 Posted August 17, 2018 Yes we should be very worried. I dont know how much guaranteed money we gave him but this might go down as one of the worst FA signing of al time. If he never plays a down I wont at all be shocked.

It’s starting to look that way. 15 sacks in 3 seasons, coming off a major injury and PED suspension. Complete overpay. And I love Stanford players too.

ndirish1978 Posted August 17, 2018 Posted August 17, 2018 Yes, this was a high risk- high reward signing and so far the risk isn't paying off.

It's okay to wait for the regular season before suggesting that someone might be on the of the worst FA signings of all time. 2 1
