Kevbeau
No Silverado? Not top 10...but should have made top 30.
Fadingpain
Finally looked at some of the list; that site is so annoying I stopped after 1 click. Does anyone know what was voted #1 ? I disagree with some of the rankings, but I was surprised and relieved to see "Shane" way down low. A lot of critics consider that the #1 best western, which I never agreed with. I guessed 8 of the top 10, my top was not quite #1, which was fine

The pacing of it. The lack of dialogue. The stillness. Really expresses the boredom the characters are feeling. And then because of that ultra slow pace with nothing happening, the sudden action which follows is that much more violent and forceful. Just brilliant film making IMO. This clip isn't complete and stops short. I can't find the continuation of it, but gives you a flavor of what I'm talking about if you haven't seen it. Arguably Henry Fonda's best role playing against type. It's a great movie, regardless of genre.

RR Tycoon: " Why'd you kill them? I only told you to scare 'em!" Fonda (matter-of-factly): " People scare better when they're die'n" One of my top 10 all-time movies.
