BuffaloRush Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Watching Season 1 Of Hard Knocks and Gregg “The Mouth That Roared” Williams is trying to give a motivational speech which was hilarious. First off, Gregg has gained some weight, died his hair, and now looks nearly unrecognizable from how he looked in Buffalo. Yet in this meeting Gregg likely stretched the truth to try to pump up his team. He said how bad people want to be in Cleveland and said “I turned down 7 offers to be here.” LOL what kind of offers? If you remember Greggy was fired after the 2016 season. His organization always drafted well but his D was mediocre at best. Funny how when Wade took over a year later, they improved quite a bit more. Anyway, I’m calling BS on his boast that he was in high demand. He came to an 0-16 team because they offered him a job. This guy is something else. 1 2

He’s headed toward full Gary Busey crazy. 4
Fadingpain Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 This was mentioned several times in the thread on the "Hard Knocks" TV show. As I said in that thread, Gregg is a first class douchebag. He absolutely wreaks of it. He comes across as a redneck and an idiot, and yet has been enjoying 7 figure salaries for a long time. He is the luckiest man in America. 5
Royale with Cheese Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Should the word "blow" be somewhere in the sentence? 1
wppete Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Gregg Williams is a great coach but a low character person. Wouldnt want to be hanging out with him. 1

This guy is something else. He followed up the crap about turning down job offers by saying "I want to be here." He was trying to instill a sense of value in the players, basically saying he wanted to be there so they should want to be there too. I.E., Cleveland is to be respected, not joked about. The funny thing is what he is arguing is so obviously phony and superficial. It's out of some hack's book on "motivational speaking for beginners". He just seems like a total idiot to me. 1

TheFunPolice Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 He went there because everyone knows Hue Jackson is getting fired by Thanksgiving, so he probably figured it gave him the best chance to be a HC again, even as an interim and maybe since it's Cleveland if he went .500 as interim they would keep him around as the full time HC in 2019. The problem with that is Todd Haley thought the same thing. 2 1

Sky Diver Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 My recollection of Gregg is that he went into the dorm with a blow horn to wake the players up during training camp. I'm sure that was a big hit. 1
Coach Tuesday Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Gregg “kill the head” Williams. Dude never shuts up. His defense is designed to look great against weak QBs and that’s about it.
N.Y. Orangeman Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Hmmmm...maybe this helped his decision making process... https://www.clevelandbrowns.com/team/coaches-roster/blake-williams
