McDermott has shown he knows defensive backs. If he thinks it’s a good idea and Beane agrees, I’m all for it.

You make a terrific point. The one thing that he has excelled at is picking up DBs who fit his scheme. Last year, he completely rebuilt the defensive backfield who then seamlessly played as a cohesive unit. His judgment on finding his type of guys (especially on defense) is exceptional.

When "The Process" speaks...trust it, Young Padawan!

"Repsect the Process" is the mantra young one.  The is not the 76ers.

I was just coming here to post about him. The Bills should absolutely explore this. The CBs didn’t look good at all the other night. Scandrick is a proven NFL player. There is little to no downside in this.

He'd do well as the slot guy.

The fact that either Levi Wallace or Pitts will be our 5th cb tells me we should sign Scandrick stat. Those guys are pretty bad and will most likely get some PT.

....any injury history Kirby?........certainly have some doubts about Murphy signing from Deadskins......

Yeah, he’s missed 29 games over the last 4 years. Maybe playing as more of a depth guy though keeps him healthier? I just don’t have a lot of faith in Davis, Gaines, Johnson and Pitts. Those guys look like CBs 2-5 to me. Adding Scandrick raises the floor some IMO.

Not against but would rather err on the side of developing young talent vs veteran depth.  This assumes that the young talent has upside - if not cut a CB and sign him.

I have this thing about people with dumb names.  Orlando?  Sounds like he should be a waiter at Don Pepe’s.  Scandrick sounds like a parasite insect that lives in dirty motel carpets.  Pass.

Have a problem with Babe Ruth because he sounds like a girl?

I mean, how can you say it didnt have anything to do with his play, but yet younger players played well enough to oust him?

I mean, he wasnt really getting paid that much.

I think Davis already fills our vet prove it deal slot in the secondary.

It doesn’t matter if the younger guys in Washington were better or had higher upside, it matters what’s in Buffalo. From most accounts it’s Tre White on one side, the corpse of Vontae Davis on the other and a bunch of guys auditioning for the Justin Rogers role.

His career has been marred by injury, and he is just not that good.  Ask any cowboys fan. That said, I think he could be better working from the slot, but I’d rather look at other options.  JMO.
