That's hilarious.  I like this, simply b/c the stunt took some planning and preparation.

I can see a guy like that blending in and keeping the hoax going for quite a while actually.

Starting in 2006 for three and a half years, some guy stood motionless on the Bills sideline and people thought he was the Bills head coach.  It took until late into the 2009 season before someone got wind of it & removed him from the sidelines.

yeah, this guys main mistake really was wearing #43.   Huge error.  At least he got to chat with AB for a while.

I actually played two games at free safety for the Bills in the mid 80’s. Nobody noticed. I was an upgrade.

Deadspin had an article a few years back about a dude that applied for press passes to braves games. Just made up a newspaper name. He was consistently approved for full access for a couple years and hung out in the club house.

There have been a few remarkable stories about guys that dressed out and sat at the end of the bench at basketball games etc... but post 9/11 it’s probably a lot more likely to catch you a felony than it would’ve 20+ years ago

That, and the fact he was wearing pads on a day they weren't practicing in pads (and he had a different color uniform on).

His stunt probably didn't last long when he botched so many things, but still funny he tried.

Sounds like he got busted early and tried to convince players to let him stay:
