I agree with most of this but these guys live in a world that most of us could not possibly understand.  With the wealth and celebrity of these athletes, there are people lined up to take advantage of them.  People whose entire goal in developing relationships with these athletes is to extract as much dough as possible.  When the athletes cut them off, there are some that will do unscrupulous things to keep that flow of money coming in.

I certainly agree with all of this too.  And like I said in other posts, I am by no means condemning him or presuming him to be guilty.  Just saying that I don't think any of us can fully dismiss this as just a money grab only.

I dont think it does. Because any team trading for him isnt going to take the allegations at face value; they will investigate themselves and talk to NFL.

These allegations have been around since summer and NFL did nothing (Commissioners Exempt list)

Well remember his contract and age too, on top of the allegations.  Look what happened with Zeke, he was never even in legal trouble and still got suspended off of allegations. So I think this would kill his trade value, not saying he cant be traded, but I think the return is going to be lower than it could have been.

What would he pull without the allegations? A 4th. Maybe a 3rd (doubt it).

Still can get that value by adding conditions to it ala Gordon trade

That's what we do in the USA.

Or at least we used to.

Thats when on trial in a court of law.  They have to be proven guilty to be convicted.  Law is about what you can prove, not what you know.  We all know OJ is a murderer, but the prosecution failed to prove it without a reasonable doubt.  You can know something and still struggle to prove it to a level of criminal conviction.

But this is not currently a criminal trial, this is a topic of discussion where people form thoughts and opinions based on whats available.  And right now, there is just no way we can just assume he is innocent and she made it all up.  Just like none of us can say he is certainly guilty as there is no where near the evidence to show he is guilty of any of the allegations.

So if I'm understanding correctly, if I were to say these women were clearly out to get something from McCoy I'd be just as correct as you?

Everyone involved with this fiasco - with the exception of the son - is a !@#$ing scumbag.

Mccoy seems to not even be near the "reasonable doubt" territory.  There has been pretty much nothing, and i doubt mccoy and his friends are master criminals who are capable of the perfect crime.

The constant pr battle and posturing for money make the victim here look bad (as well as the morphed story)

Im not even a "protect the bills at all costs" guy.  When this first broke, i felt like it didnt look good for mccoy.

I'm in no mood to draw a moral equivalence between shady and the women. Burden is on them to prove it.

What am I correct about?  I didn't say he is guilty...I said that its simply too soon to say he is or isnt involved in this.

And you can absolutely say these women are out to get something from McCoy, its entirely plausible...just like its plausible he was involved...or that its plausible that its BOTH.  I mean, you do realize that right?  Its very plausible that DC is, and has been, trying to get things out of McCoy and he took an extreme measure in response.  Wouldn't be the first time an athlete made a poor decision.

So again, I am not pushing anything here in terms of what happened, I am just saying I think its premature to 100% dismiss the possibility of McCoys involvement

I don't know (or care) if he did what he's being accused of ... he's still a scumbag.

I think a 4th given his age and contract would have been a reasonable epectation, but Beane has gotten people to pay more for guys I thought we get a lot less for, so I would think a 3rd would be possible.  But 4th is what I always kind of assumed would be what we would get.  And at this point, I would take a 4th for McCoy.  I wasnt interested in trading him before, but we are not going anywhere this year and I dont expect him to be a Bill next year, might as well get a 4th and see if Murphy can be a lead back or if we need to draft/sign one next year.

Fair.

As for me, between the Party Bus incident, the nightclub incident, the way Shady tweeted about his babymomma ("Dirty alley girl") when his son was young and failed to support them initially, I'm at "where there's smoke there's fire" and ready to say Shady's looking pretty scummy.  But that's just me.

And you can still get that compensation with the Allegations. Structure it like Gordons with compensation going back if suspended like 4th goes to third with no suspension. Drops to 6th is suspended x amount of games in 2018

I'm going to hold a press conference next week. I have information that McCoy may have created the ebola virus in his biological weapons lab. I have heard from other mad scientists that he created similar biological weapons. I know that he is the person behind this!

I am offering 40,000 Iranian Rials for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible, whomever they are, even though I just said it was McCoy.

And yet it’s not too soon for Cordon to say he is or for Shady to say he isn’t.

Funny how the court of public opinion works.
