To be honest, of the guys on the bubbles for the TE group, he’s been the most “meh”. Logan Thomas was a beast blocking and looked really good receiving in the last preseason game. And Croom and Lee have looked really good too.

It is real odd to see an ex-QB described as a beast blocking.

The announcers job just got harder. Time to find a new fun fact.

"....and here is Croom, who is dating the boss' daughter".  Problem solved.

I can see him becoming a big LA Lakers fan like his gramps.

Makes sense since if already in Hollywood he can follow in his uncle's footsteps and become a Chinese marital arts film star.

I am a big Croom fan but I am still sad about Nick. Hope he bounces back somewhere like Indy.

...so is Pegula's daughter....that is her new beau............

They'll do it out of spite.

Spite? Nope.  They will do what's in their best interest with the goal of winning.  I don't think O'Leary helps them toward that end.

Oh well. I liked O'Leary. I still don't like the way Croom and Thomas block, but I can't deny Croom's potential as a receiver. I still think Thomas can be good eventually. I think I would have kept OLeary over Lee, but it's all good.

I hated hearing how he was that guys grandson over and over and over and over.

I liked O'Leary, also.  All he did was come up with catches when called upon to do so.  He will be on another team soon enough.

I could see him landing in Miami.    Their TEs are  not exactly Murders Row:

  • Mike Gesicki
  • Durham Smythe
  • MarQueis Gray
  • A.J. Derby

Nick played college ball in the state and Grampa Jack is a season ticket holder, so there's intangibles as well...

Look on the bright side: we won't have to hear the Jack Nicklaus reference every game this year.

Now we can hear about how Croom is banging the owner's daughter!

O'Leary wasn't spectacular, but he's reliable in actual games...

Who cares who looked better in preseason....Rather have someone as consistent and steady as Nick on the team than a bunch of unknowns who looked nice in camp & preseason.
