26CornerBlitz Posted August 12, 2018 Author Posted August 12, 2018 Joe B: 7 observations from 2018 Buffalo Bills training camp - Day 13 (WKBW) - After a four-day break from Pittsford, NY, the Buffalo Bills returned to St. John Fisher College on Sunday for the start of their final week of training camp. It was the first of four straight days of practice on the campus. Along with it, we saw the most movement up and down the depth chart than we have since training camp begun. Most days, the changes were more subtle, but Sunday showed differences almost at every position. The Bills, of course, are armed with a full game's worth of notes on their players, and that's what has likely fueled a lot of the changes. Not to mention, the Bills also had a scuffle between Kyle Williams, Jordan Mills, and then a screaming Jerry Hughes at the end of it. All in all, Sunday provided one of the more intense practices for the Bills. Seven observations from a loaded Day 13: 1) Injuries and rotations aplenty at QB 2) Surprise cut candidate: Nick O'Leary 3) Matt Milano's starting job in jeopardy? 4) Undrafted rookie moves up the depth chart 5) Zay Jones looks smooth and close to a return 6) Corey Coleman working in with the top unit 7) The battle for backup middle linebacker heats up Day 13 MVP: TE Logan Thomas - Thomas corralled a play-action bootleg pass in the end zone from Nathan Peterman on one goal line attempt, and then a few plays later, lined up one-on-one against safety Dean Marlowe and had a fade route thrown to him by Josh Allen. It was a perfect placement, and Thomas high-pointed the ball and tapped both toes in for the score. With other tight ends flashing during camp, this was a big day for Thomas. Day 13 LVP: OT Jordan Mills - He is continuously the player in the middle of scuffles during training camp, and he even caused someone as collected as Kyle Williams to uncharacteristically throw punches at him. Even Jerry Hughes screamed at him well after the play was over. Putting that many people at risk is worthy of an LVP, especially when he has been the common denominator for most training camp fights for the past three seasons. Up Next: Day 14 on Monday, August 13 at 8:45 am.

Domdab99 Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 I'm liking this Marlowe kid. Could be the stuff dreams are made of.
Formerly Allan in MD Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 Kyle is a top defensive lineman and even scores touchdowns. What does Mills do aside from missing blocks, with great consistency?
26CornerBlitz Posted August 12, 2018 Author Posted August 12, 2018 Sean McDermott: "I Think It's Healthy" (8:00) HC Sean McDermott talks about injury updates, the quarterbacks and more. Quick Hits: Battle at wide receiver may be heating up It’s the third and final week of training camp for the Bills at St. John Fisher. And if you were thinking the Bills might be ready to make big changes in their quarterback rotation this week—guess again. It’s business as usual, head coach Sean McDermott said Sunday before the Bills took the field for practice. “You guys get the gist by now, right?” McDermott answered, when asked about his quarterback plans this week. “We’ll take it one day at a time. You’ll see the rotation out there today, you’ll see Josh (Allen) working with different groups, the way he did before. It’s a great competition. All three of them played well the other night. We like the progression of what they’ve done since the spring.”

26CornerBlitz Posted August 13, 2018 Author Posted August 13, 2018 (edited) Bills QB rotation continues Sunday; Allen's reps increase SAL CAPACCIO - AUGUST 12, 2018 - 8:57 PM There were a couple different developments in the Bills’ quarterback situation here at practice Sunday afternoon. First, rookie Josh Allen saw some first-team reps again for the first time in over a week in 11-on-11 action. He also worked in quite a bit with the second unit, usually rotating with Nathan Peterman, who saw most of the first-team reps throughout the practice. Then, late in practice, A.J. McCarron appeared to injure his lower right leg. It was unclear exactly what happened to the QB, but after a play he started limping then immediately walked towards trainers who had him lay on his back while they examined him. After getting up, McCarron sat out the next several minutes, but then only took part in a couple plays before heading over to see trainers again. After a solid performance by all three QBs turned in during the team’s first preseason game Thursday night against the Carolina Panthers, head coach Sean McDermott declined to say who would start the Friday’s game at the Cleveland Browns, only to say the team will continue with their rotation. 3 things to know from Day 13 at Bills camp 1. SUNDAY FOR YOU, WORK DAY FOR BILLS PLAYERS Just three days removed from their first preseason game, the Bills got back to work with a vengeance Sunday at St. John Fisher. And their intense work day ended with live tackling in a short yardage/goal line period at camp. “It’s good work for us to come in and bang each other up,” RB Marcus Murphy said after practice. “Get used to lowering our pads and getting it in the end zone is the most important thing there is. You want to put up points.” 2. CROOM MOVING UP? Second-year tight end Jason Croom has made himself noticed through the first three weeks of training camp. And he made his mark last Thursday in the first preseason game, with a 22-yard catch from Josh Allen. Croom spent last year on Buffalo’s practice squad after signing on as an undrafted free agent. But he’s getting some attention. He actually began to get attention with his strong work ethic during the offseason. 3. MURPHY GETTING MORE WORK How’d you like to try to make the Bills roster at running back? At the top of the depth chart it’s LeSean McCoy. Then it’s eight-year veteran Chris Ivory, just three years removed from a 1,000-yard rushing season and a Pro Bowl berth. Edited August 13, 2018 by 26CornerBlitz
