The Bills Blog Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 Really passed the eye test and looked like the best quarterback Denver has. Fans loved it also and were chanting "Kelly, Kelly." Could it happen?
MAJBobby Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 No wont supplant Keenum Should supplant Lynch though for BU
thenorthremembers Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 He will get a chance at the #2s next time.
26CornerBlitz Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 Pretty good performance overall with two TDs and one Int. Should have had another TD with a drop in the EZ by one of his guys, but also had a pick six dropped. 1
Chandler#81 Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 Yep, I listened to the game on SiriusXM. Impressive.
MAJBobby Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 3 bad decisions. Out of all his throws. And a real long throwing motion (that is why that DB was able to easily break on what should have been a Pick 6). I thoight he had a more compact throwing motion in College. Not sure maybe he always had that big looping motion.
JimBob2232 Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 Always thought we should have taken a flyer on this kid. Buffalo might be too much pressure for him though. Either way, I’d be happy to see him succeed. 1
BuffaloRush Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 I’ve always liked Chad. Really thought the Bills should have taken him, though according to some people in the media playing in Buffalo would’ve been a huge distraction for Chad who had some odd-the-field issues. He’d have access to the same crowd and places that he ran into trouble. Seems like he needed a fresh start 3

Fadingpain Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 (edited) He did a lot of good and a lot of bad. He was often late to decide what to do and throw the ball. That led to an easy pick at one point. He tended to lock onto his target before throwing, again making it easy for DBs to know where the ball was going. Arm strength seems suspect. Not horrible, but could be stronger. He showed an over-eagerness to pull the ball down and run. Though when he did, he often ran for some nice yardage. No doubt he is a scrapper and gamer type player, but I think he lacks the tools to be a good QB at the NFL level. Edited August 12, 2018 by Fadingpain 1
Seasons1992 Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 One of these days we will embrace the players actually ON the team.....
bills11 Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 His elongated throwing motion is a big problem tho he's gonna throw pick sixes unless he makes it more compact. His velocity and accuracy looked good tho
bobobonators Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 Lynch is absolute garbage. And Kelly is a major wild card. Broncos are going to probably need a real #2 QB. We have AJ. I would trade them AJ for a draft pick and go with Peterman/Allen.
Acantha Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 I'd say he looked okay; nothing really stuck out as great to me. Talent was never his issue. He could have been a day 1 pick if he wasn't such a head case. Day 2 pick if he'd even just been a normal level head case.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 He looked great, will be the starter eventually. Side note: Don Beebe's kid plays for the Vikings. 1
Juice_32 Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 He's got a big windup. Reminds me of Fitz the way he puts his whole body into it. 1

I like his last name as much as anyone but saying he is going to be their starter is a stretch. He made some good throws but also made some bad decisions. The one pass should have been a pick six if that DB could catch. I would like to see him make more throws while under pressure or avoiding pressure. A lot of his throws were from a clean pocket which nobody around him. He did make some good plays with his feet and seems like the passes he made were in the right spot. I am curious to see what his deep ball looks like because it looks like he is putting everything he has on throws over 10 yards.
