Want to keep the discussion of the two trials separate. The current one in Virginia is about pre-Trump dealings regarding tax evasion (yawn) and money laundering.

The DC trial will try to pin him with "conspiring to defraud the U.S. government, failure to register as a foreign lobbyist, and of obstruction of justice, among other charges — and that alongside a mysterious co-defendant, Konstantin Kilimnik. Earlier this year, Mueller disclosed in court documents that this wingman possessed “ties to Russian intelligence service,” which persisted during the presidential campaign." This juicy little Trump-bashing article says so.

Well now. The Persecution has rested in his first trial in Vagina. Get ready for the gloves to come off in The District.

Shouldn't this be in a "Would ya" thread?

Only when I look in the mirror... or am stuck in a Turkish prison.

Only a couple of weeks before this begins. The first trial might not do him much damage, but so many lines in the water is bound to snag something. But none of it should impact Trump and his campaign at all.

The second trial will be different. I wonder if Brennan had some super-secret seventh circle of secret initiates level of info on Trump - like he wanted to build a casino in St. Petersburg using Clinton Foundation as the bank.

Looks like the last time I went out to catch dinner. Either that or a typical democrat voter drive.

The jury went out to deliberate at 9:37am. After they left, the judge addressed a motion that a coalition of media groups (including BuzzFeed) filed seeking info on jurors and to unseal various sealed docs/transcripts. Here's the motion: https://assets.documentcloud.org/documents/4770015/8-16-18-Media-Motion-to-Intervene-and-for-Access.pdf

The judge will hold a hearing on a motion by CNN and media organizations to unseal the names and addresses of jurors as well as other parts of the trial that are currently secret.

A responsible press is  essential in a free country. And this is not that.

.We’re not enemies of people. Also we want the names and addresses of jurors. . . . .No reason.

Why would somebody want access to the names and addresses of jurors in an active court case?

Whatever could go wrong?

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/el-chapo-trial-promises-not-kill-jurors-witnesses-new-york-joaquin-guzman-a8180261.html

The lawyer for Mexican drug kingpin Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzman says jurors presiding over his federal trial in New York do not need special protection, his defence lawyer has said.

He was extradited to the United States from Mexico last year and faces federal charges for his alleged role running a drug empire responsible for deaths and trafficking. Mr Guzman has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Prosecutors in the case have requested that Brooklyn Federal Court Justice Brian Cogan — who is overseeing the case — impanel an anonymous jury with armed guards as protection, and to house those individuals in a secure location, in order to keep them safe. The trial is expected to last for months later this year.

If the judge permits this, I'd get a lawyer on the phone if I were a juror.

The media is VERY happy to give home addresses to people who will find these jurors and make their lives a living hell.

Should have never been considered in the first place. It just shows you that CNN is interested having people outed so they can be threatened to make the decision CNN wants.

Why, it's almost like CNN would be considered an enemy of the state.

Many media outlets, not just CNN, requested the information per their 1st amendment rights. The judge rightly denied them to due to safety concerns. At least checks and balances are working somewhere in this country.

I'd disagree.  Seems the judge handled the whole thing properly.  He let the journalists make their case, found out it didn't have enough merit to outweigh keeping the jurors anonymous, & then promptly (& properly IMHO) turned it down.

I want the addresses of all the people on CNN, NYT, etc then.

You know.  I just may spend some time doing as much of that as I can.

In college I handled a truck that went to NYC for UPS.  I saw many stars names and home addresses.  Rosie O'Donnell was my favorite.  I drew cocks all over the box.

Also saw a few random folks of less Fame or whatever but only remember Rosie because I drew dicks on it.

They are. Period. There is no debate. They are not to be considered anything approaching a healthy part of our country.
