Cynical Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 Good for her. But, assuming she's an employee, I wonder how her employer feels now that they know she was gambling online during working hours.

Depending how much she made, that's a hefty sum of money to hold her over while she's looking for a new job. Or hell, to invest in a new business, or start a business on her own. Fadingpain Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 LOL; the simple fact is that most people, in most jobs in an office setting, are filling time, killing time, and trying to figure out any way possible to get through their work day, most of the time. This site would have about 75% less activity if the above were not true. Ever monitor activity here on the weekend, when most people aren't stuck in an office? Activity drops way off. 2 1

Kevbeau Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 A couple years back our VP had a coworker of mine put hook his laptop to a projector because our project was being delayed by an analytic model he was “struggling” with in excel. Dude had his monitor order backwards and all of a sudden poker buddies is up there on the big screen for the entire project team to see. Guy was gone a month later.

It was put on by a previous contractor and broke down and each time I needed to fix it. Per design when filter broke it broke open meaning internet was available and unfiltered. I figured out how to separate the portion of the logging from the portion which was blocking. Changes were made with prior approval of government contract manager on site but was instructed to not tell anyone else. Next time I handled failure I gave report to contract manager and local agency head showing reason for failure was a deliberate attempt to take down filter and that immediately afterwards the most frequent search was "big black studs with dicks". Immediately after report a memo was sent out stating that filter modified stating that all searches & URLs were recorded and letters put in file for all those doing non-permitted searches and that further violations of policy will result in administrative consequences with some legalese regarding civil service, union (evidently a list of violators was sent to union), etc.

Sorry to drag this into the PPP sewer but I had a recent encounter with somebody blaming Trump for their browsing history. I asked him why he gave his smart card and PIN to Donald Trump

boyst Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 Certainly, @eball is concerned about the woman's dedication.
Just Jack Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 Years ago, back when Windows XP was new, I worked as an IT contractor at a large corporate headquarters. Every June when the new college summer interns would start we would start getting calls about slow computers. Go and look and sure enough, they’ve loaded non business software on their system, like AOL IM, Napster, Weatherbug, etc. We’d delete it and tell them they were not company approved programs and if they loaded them again, we’d report them to their supervisor. Same company, in the manufacturing area, had a computer that monitored this one piece of equipment. That’s all, it just sat there recording. One day I get a call the screen is f’d up. Go and look and someone on third shift had loaded Deer Hunter on it to play at night. Delete it and told them same thing, load it again and it’s being reported. About two weeks later, get a call again and sure enough that had loaded the game again. Reported and never had an issue with that system again.
